NYKB (NEW YORK KITCHEN AND BATH) TESTIMONIAL

When the bathrooms in my condo were getting a little long in the tooth, I gathered about six different quotes from remodelers and ultimately chose NYKB. I couldn't be happier with my decision.

My quotes ranged from $145k to $65k. NYKB was somewhere in the middle.

My initial request for a quote was promptly responded to.  It was Perry Hiiman, the owner, that called me and he gave me confidence that I could trust his firm to complete quality work.

Why did I choose NYKB? When Perry was walking through my place to gather details to furnish a quote, he was upfront about the challenges that lied ahead (moving HVAC, electric, etc.). He also supplied a folder of credentials including a list of references. His approach was very direct, and his follow-up was professional. He made it clear this wasn't going to be a $40k job, but I never got the sense he was into highway robbery like the $145k quote I received. When it comes to construction, you get what you pay for, and at the end of the day, you want to go into a large project like this with a good feeling instead of wondering if it will turn out okay.

Not being a stranger to hiring contractors, I know the run-around that often ensues with these types of operations, and it can be stressful to manage. From about September through early November, Perry's guys were at my place every. single. working. day. Never once did I get the very common, "oh we have to go finish a quick job and then we'll get back to you." Lining up jobs this way probably doesn't generate the most profit, but it's the honorable approach and it's what earns NYKB five stars as opposed to the horror stories you read about with other contractors.

The design guidance was amazing working with Ellen Schott puts all my stress aside as she is the most professional, knowable and patient designer I have ever meet..... I was provided as little or as much feedback as I needed in pulling the project details together.

The project included complete guts of both bathrooms; new vanities, new plumbing fixtures, new toilets, new paint and new title along with the addition of heated floors, lighting, and in the master, a replacement of the useless jacuzzi tub with a rain/steam shower.

Pricing was very transparent and all questions were promptly responded to.

Construction work didn't begin until all materials were secured - it made for short duration project which was great.

NYKB paid close attention to detail; my tile is basically a work of art in how they aligned everything. Luis and his helpers are true craftsmen and did a fantastic job of breathing new life into my bathrooms.

Once the work was completed I was encouraged to keep punch list of items that required more work.  There were very few, and all were addressed promptly.

NYKB/Perry met all my expectations. I would recommend NYKB/Perry without reservation; in fact, I've already had his crew back once to do a small painting job, and I've asked him to submit a quote to my condo association as we need to do a few remodeling jobs in our common areas.

The fact that hired the same contractor again says it all.
