NWM Marketing LLC New World Marketing Sold False airtime for advertising Des Plaines Illinois
We recieved a call to our buisness asking if we would like to show our support to the troops and advertise our buisness at the same time on July 4th weekend 2016. After much discussion we decided that we would pay for a few spots and see what it did for our buisness. The local station WIYY 98 rock is very popular with our customer base and were told that our spot would air with them from Friday the 1st Monday the4th. We posted a promotion on our Facebook page and asked our customers to listen for the spot the first customer that told us a time and what the ad said would win a prize.
We personally tuned into the satation all four days and NOTHING! There was not even another ad like it played or similar. Tuesday morning on the 5th I called and spoke to Trica and explained that the ad had never been aired and she said oh that it wasn't supposed to air until August and then asked me if I wanted Sept. 11th and I replied NO I want the money back . She told me she would email me a check that I could see that it was made out to our company and she would put it in the mail to me. Of course as I suspected no email and no check!
Yesterday since they stopped answering calls from the business phone I had my boyfriend and owner of the buisness call from his cell phone. Tricia answered and told him that she was not at her desk and called back a few minutes later. He gave her the invoice number and she again said that she was going to mail out the check or that it had been mailed out. But it does not end there. Later in the day our buisness phone rang and it was from the same area code that Trica's number was.When I answered the phone it was a young man claiming that he was with WIYY 98 rock. Did I hear our ads on the radio on July 4th weekend? Now here is where it all fell apart for them. First off Tricia said that I had the wrong air date. I pointed this out to him . Second why would some one from the station call me from the same number as the martketing ? This young man claimed that he had the authority to use the radio stationss name ( I will be calling them next).
I stopped him in his tracks with all of the flaws in his story being pointed out to him. He did tell me to have a nice day when he knew nothing else to say. I told him that I would continue to file complaints against this company until I get resolution to this matter.
We are a small "mom&pop" business that proudly supports our troops and spent hard earned money to try our hand at advertising. Sadly these people take advantage of good hard working people that care about important social issues. If all I can do is prevent one more person from losing even a dollar to these scam artists then so be it.
