I own a 1994 Ford Taurus which (at the time) was under full bumper to bumper warranty including car-rental. When I had a problem which (was under warranty) I informed them that I would need a loaner car to use until mine was fixed. They referred me to Enterprise Rent-A-Car in northeast Philadelphia. I reminded them that my car and rental were covered under warranty and they confirmed that. Besides, I have it in black and white.

I rented the car and told them to bill Northeast Lincoln Mercury and Enterprise complied. But later, Much much later, about maybe six to eight months later. I decided to rent from Enterprise to take a long trip. Enterprise wouldn't (and still won't)let me rent a car from them because they told me that I have an outstanding bill with them. I was totally sirprised! Then they explained to me that Northeast Lincoln Mercury would not pay for the rental. I then called the dealer and asked them why. They told me that they were unaware that they had to pay for the rental.

I then told them to look over the warranty and they agreed that the auto rental is covered. But stated that they didn't know I wanted them to pay for it at the time. How ridiculous! They referred me to them and they knew that the rental was included! So when I complained the manager said that he would call Ford to see what he could do. Later I got a stupid message on my answering machine stating that because of the length of time that had lapsed (not my fault) they would not pay for the rental at all. And they left me stuck with the bill. I am not paying it. But that only serves to hurt me. They could care less!

Please see my other report on how they are trying to rip me off on repairs too!

I thought it was only me that had any sort of problems with Northeast Lincoln-Mercury. Last year, while shopping for a brand new Lincoln Continental, I stopped by Northeast to see what they could offer. I was driving a 2000 Buick Regal at the time (hardly 16 months old) with approximately 11,500 miles. I was given a trade-in value of my car (with an original MSRP of $28,500) of $12,600! When I politely told the salesman that this was completely unacceptable and that he was at least $3,500 away, he promptly walked away from me. When I told him I'd like my car keys back so I could leave, he proceeds to throw them at me. This was in addition to denying that there was a $5,000 rebate on the car at the time through Ford! Needless to say, I will never stop by this dealership again for ANYTHING!!!
