I have complained to NCU several times regarding changing advisers, mentors, chairs, SME's during a term as it sets the student up for failure, and delays their progress. Each time a student loses a member of their committee a new member needs to be appointed.
In many cases it was after the current term so any progress made on a dissertation basically is wasted money. A student faces rewrites because of differing opinions or beliefs a new chair or adviser may have regarding their subject matter. This process delays, extends, and in my case causes numerous changes to be made. For me there were 5 terms where I made absolutely no progress.
Actually in two terms the Chair did not even review my work, instead referred me to academic counseling because my writing style was not what the mentor liked. NCU of course continued to draw student loan money even though they did not provide any service. At the end of my funding NCU discharged me from the program because I could no longer pay them tuition as I had reached my student loan limits.
So for 6 years NCU drained money from me without delivering on their end of the contract by continuously changing mentors, advisers and program steps. At the end of the day I ended up with nothing except thousands of dollars in debt with nothing to show for it.
Reason of review: Failure to deliver services as agreed.
Monetary Loss: $120000.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
I liked: Premise of coaching, Mentoring and guidance, Flexible hours.
I didn't like: Prolonging dissertation to increase their profits, Fraudulent practices, Lack of support for the dissertation process, Fraud, Failure to deliver services as promised.
