I thought this was a good company as opposed to one of those "fly-by-night" moving companies people talk about. The driver had a lock-in delivery date of 5/11 and he was to call me the day before. I was told if he didn't, I was to call the company. He never called. I called the company and was told he couldn't deliver until the 15th because he got a different shipment and was delayed. My contract delivery spread was from the 6th to the 13th -- I am starting a new job on the 15th and need my clothes, etc., for job and won't be available to take delivery.

I began my phone calls first to the 1-800 number and then demanded the President of the corporation's number, which I started to call. Supervisors would not call me back. Cindy Balestra called me after I left several messages on the "president's" voice mail. She was rude to me. Hung up on me twice (I was assertive and firm in what I expected regarding my delivery but NEVER called her a name or yelled at her yet she hung up on me).

Over the course of two days, I spent seven hours glued to my cell phone "talking" with this "company." The rep from Northern California (whom I had gone through) told me he AND the dispatcher said there was no reason why the driver couldn't get my shipment delivered by the 13th. Cindy Balestra didn't care to hear any of that. After I finally got a response from her that the driver would deliver on the 14th (a day out of the spread -- so they owe me compensation), the driver then called me and verbally harrassed me on the phone and told me he was a human being who needed sleep, etc, and he kept having to answer phone calls from the department and why didn't I call him instead of calling the company. Unreal.

His "supervisor" lied to the rep and told him my apartment complex said they wouldn't let him deliver on a Saturday (the 13th). So I called the complex and they said they had never heard of such a thing -- moving companies deliver all the time on weekends. The driver wouldn't give me the name of his supervisor, nor would Cindy Balestra (I'm assuming there is no supervisor -- it was probably a lie the company told the rep to tell me).

So they are looking at a possible lawsuit. I also explained if I didn't receive every single thing in the exact condition it left my place in California in, I would have my attorney start a lawsuit against them.

Do not ever use North American Van Lines. They are unprofessional, they lie, they don't return calls, they don't "stick" to their contract, they don't know what it means to be in the customer service industry and they are downright rude. Spread the word.
