My heart goes out to all the Nextel subscribers who are having problems with getting there UP FRONT DEPOSIT BACK in a timely fashion. My experience began with a direct solicitation from the company, advertising " 1 month free service ". I was more interested in the " direct connect " feature since I am in the service business and have several clients who have Nextel phones and could use " direct connect " instead of dial up to get in contact with me.

I went to an authorized Nextel dealer with a the plan and phone in mind I wanted only to find out they required a $200.00 deposit after asking why so much, the authorized rep told me I was lucky, some businesses are required to put up much more. Being piss off I left to order my phone and service on there company web site. after doing so I get a call from a Nextel rep the next day requiring a $400.00 deposit for the same service I wanted 2 days before when only a $ 200.00 deposit was required, ask the rep WHY!!! they couldn't give me an answer asked the rep if they were going to pay me interest on my deposit money no answer go figure. I wonder what they do with all that deposit money??????? while still charging there monthly service.
