I purchased a treadmill from Sports Auhority in September 2001.

I bought the 2yr warranty because I felt this mahine would be used and there would be normal wear & tear.

In December the belt started to make a weird noise and i noticed the belt was starting to slip to the left side and that there was a lot of black grainy like dust on the ground at the back of the treadmill. I also nooted that the back area where the belt rotates around was cracked and had moved forward whereas the right side was still in its actual position but straining. I stopped using it and called the 1-800-825-8348 number on the warranty Janary 2nd, 2002.

The National Electronics Warranty Corp. people asked me questions about the machine, then said they would be in contact with the repair service in Honolulu, Hawaii who would service this machine. They told me I should here from them within 24 hours.

The following week, January 9th, I made a follow-up call to NE Warranty again they said they would call within 24 hours and this time they gave me the repair service company name and phone number. I called. I left a message. I called again - nothing.

The third week I got a call from the repair service and they asked me if i had gotten in the parts for the treadmill. I said how could I when no one has come to see what the problem is. We set up an appointment for Wednesday January 16th for 12:30pm, he arrived at 1:30pm, he called said he was running late. He checked it out and made the conclusion that it needed a new belt, the back area was broken and would need to be replaced and that we should get a few more nuts and bolts in cas when he dismantled the whole thing these nutsand bolts may be needed.

They said it would take about 2 weeks to get my parts which they would have sent to my office by UPS. I waited.

It's now February 8th and no parts have arrived. I call and let the service people know that nothing has arrived what is the status. They say they will check and get back to me. They tell me that the parts were being sent out 2nd day air UPS on Feb. 6.

I call the repair service February 15th to find out what the status is on the parts, they still have not arrived. I'm told i should have by next week.

On February 26 I call NE Warranty and Samanatha tells me that the parts were authorized & ordered on Feb 21 and would be sent to me that I should receive within 6-7 days.

On March 4th I receive a box from UPS and I call the repair servic to tlet them know it arrived and I open the box while the are on the phone and let them know from the packinglist what was in the box. There was a part missing - a rather important part and they had asked fr 2 screws and only one was sent. THey ask me to call an ask themto send these missing pieces. I do.

I called on March 4th, NE Warranty and spoke with Tracy he sad the woul get these missing items out overnight.

today is March 15th. I called NE Warrant and spoke to Christine, she said tht it was ordered but could not tell me when and if the pieces were sent out. I explained to her that if I didn't get my treadmill fixed and running byMarch 29th that I would be returning the treadmill and getting a full refund on the warranty also. She said i could do whatever i wanted to do.

I called Sports Authority from where I had made the purchase and spoke to thir Manager Karl, who was very courteous and told him about my three month problem and he said that there would be no problem returning the treadmill and receiving a full refund on the 2year warranty. Just bring it in.

As simple as that all is - to move this monstrosity since it is now put together gives me another situation as to how to transport this thing.

National Electrons Warranty along with ICON Health & Fitness definitely ripped me off and wasted my time.
