Did you notice what Robert said?  Did you ALSO notice how he used capitalization and punctuation?  Did you see how his sentence structure makes his entire posting very easy to read?  You would do very well for yourself to do exactly the same in any of your future writings!

According to your post you deposited 2 checks in Feburary and then about two months later the bank has yet to release the funds due to suspicious activity.

First off the Federal Expedited Funds Availability Act(Regulation CC) requires a bank to make the funds available after a certain amount of time.  In most cases the maximum is 11 days after you deposit it.  Unless the bank considers it a higher risk, such as a large deposit, new account, or they have other "reasonable" cause to doubt the collectability.  Where opening an account and depositing 2 "large" "personal" checks from your "employer" is something that quite reasonably raises doubt.

But one has to ask, if they are requiring proof from your Employer's bank, why can't you provide that?  Wouldn't your new employer try and help you "make it right"?  Seems like you skipped a lot of things between Feburary and April, such as how have you been paid by this employer over the last two months?

We then get to what is the bigger issue and what really should be setting off alarm bells in your head, especially if you are continuing to get paid by "personal" checks.  This is NOT normal.  That is also a very good indication that there is some funny business going on where things are quite possibly not being reported as they should.  Where not only could it affect his "business" to the point of the government coming in and shutting him down, but you could be held liable for taxes that are not being reported.
