Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This company handled a move for me payed for by my company. They evidently thought that just because it was a company funded move they could raise the rate after pickup and get paid easily.

Instead my company had a cap on what thay would pay for leaving me to pay over $2500 dollars extra for the move. Tell me if this sounds on the up and up. My move sub-contracted to another company who passed it off to a local company in Houston. So evidently everybody made full price for my move of a one bedroom apart ment with wicker living and diningroom furniture (not Heavy) and a smal wal-mart purchased entertainment center with a tv and stereo.

There were only 20 boxes and luckily I opted to rent a small trailer and move those myself. The move was loaded on a Tuesday morning in Houston specificaly Highlands to the east of houston. Come Thursday morning I got a cal the rickety old truck the company was using had blown an engine so My stuff was being moved into another truck and would be to my new apartment in Jackson, Mississippi on friday. I had no problems with that at all hey things happen.

Well come Friday no stuff and I was just told to call a houston number and talk to them about it. Well turns out their truck was not broken but towed by DOT (Department of Transportation) for no Insurance and falsifying a log book. A serious offense. Well I was promised it was being arranged to get me my belonings by the end of the next week.

Thats when panic hit. I am an online trader for a brokerage firm and my computer was on that truck. All I had till then was my laptop and it had only my daily managed trading clients not the weekly ones. If I didnt get that soon I would cost myself and about a hundred others possibly thousands of dollars and not to mention retirement funds for many.

Monday came no word Tuesday no word so Wenesday I got a call My stuff was in town. I met them at the front gates an hour later. now they always want payment before hand so I handed them The company bank draft and the guy just looked at me and said no tis is not the price. "say what" Right instead of $1500 dollars quoted mileage included I was told for storage and added transportation fees My total was now $4000 dollars.

I didnt have but about a $1000 worth of stuff in that truck. I was not going to pay it. What could I do to solve this I told the guy it would take me an hour to get the money together. (stall tactic to see what the hell was going on). they left to go eat lunch geez it was only 10:00a.m. but that gave me some extra time i needed.

I first called National moving network who gave me a run around about how the added fees were legal.

Then i called the number i was given for the company who had my stuff anly to be told that i eaither payed when the drivers showed back up or my stuff would not be unloaded from their truck. hmmm what a delima. Had there been a contract yes there had an online contract. I immediately had it faxed to the local office from my company and sure enough the fee was there 1500$ dollars milage included.

Nothing about added fees and such was ever mentioned. But what was I to do this was a civil matter the police would only tell me I had to get a lawyer. All I could think of was My computer how could I ever get it. That was it I had them that computer was company property I hasd my client information on it and that was a federal issue. I called a lawyer and told him the delima.

He knew just what to do and copuld do it in an hours time but could I stall them that much longer they would be back soon. I had to try. And I did the lawyer showed up with several marshals and served the seizure of property papers to the movers. They promptly called their employer who asked to speak to the marshalls who explained the legal side of what had happened.

That computer containing those files was considered to be federally protected due to the nature of what it was Finacial documents insured by the federal government. IRA s and tax documents, bonds, investments. The all mighty dollar. but did they have to give me everything. Yes they did because by Mississippi law once they unloaded the stuff it was mine again. It became their only recourse to file a civil suit then. The doors were reversed on them.

I made out of this barely with my belongings and only cost me $460 dollars in legal fees to the lawyer. But this seems to have happened more times than this. Help get the word out about this National Moving Network and get some kind of monitoring done to prevent this e business from being free to do this ever again.

Choose a better alternative I recently moved again but chose emove.com to do my move It is a company working with U-haul you rent the truck from them and the move is bid by a company and you choose who you want to move you according to the stars they have. It was the best move ever.

A local Family guy who had gone into doing emoves with his sons was my choice and you know what it was like having my dad and brothers move me and their rates were great. The three of packed my stuff loaded it on the truck and drove it from point a to point b with with their car in tow and unloaded it returned the truck for me and drove themselves home. That easy. Dont get ripped like I was almost choose the better option.
