National Moving Network & Official' Moving Company a bunch of crooks
I'm writing you in regard the problems and fraud that occured during my relocation from Amherst, MA to Los Angeles, CA. I have hired National Moving Network, P. O. Box 276, Hallandale, FL 33008 Phone 1-800-722-9775, Fax 305-945-3255 through sales person Ruth Gross @ Extension 242 to relocate my furniture from my east coast house to CA. An agreed estimate of $1530.00, I paid required deposit of $650.00 and the movers came and picked up the furniture from my house. National Moving Network subcontracted or passed on the business to the Official Moving Company and gave me their 1-888-8OFFICIAL phone number and told me to call JOHN for all the future information I need.
Since the pickup occurred in June 2000, I insisted ever since with numerous phone calls to the agency both National Moving Network' and the Official' Moving Company that they provide me with the inventory of things they picked up at my house, weight of the truck before and weight of the truck after the furniture was loaded, or simply to give me ANY paperwork regarding my furniture. They refused to mail or fax me the material unless I agree to pay additional 50% of the price they now claim to be somewhere around $3000 dollars (double of what was estimated). They claim that this new price is the result of my furniture weighting more then estimated 1600 lbs. But they refuse to send me any paperwork regarding my furniture weight until I pay 50% of their phantom' price.
I have contacted the Consumer Protection Division with Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office filed the paperwork.
I have books I need for work stuck with them and some are irreplaceable and in the foreign language, much needed for my work. I replaced the furniture by now (slept on the floor for couple of weeks after i moved to CA) but now have bed...
let's do something about these crooks.
