Last year I called National Boat Cover, and exoredded interest in a cover for my 2006 Maxium bow rider w extended swim platform. I answerd all the questions ask of me by the National Boat Cover customer rep, and then he / she suggested a particular cover, of which I ordered.

I received the cover and attempted to put it on my boat and soon found out it was not the correct size. It did not fit over both rub strips on each side of the bow, plus the cover barely, barely, fit over the swim platform. The cover was on for a maxium of 20 minutes, after which I removed it, folded it up and put ot back into the shippiong box. I called customer service and explained the situation to a "retrurn specialist". He asked that I take some photos and include them with the returned cover so he could better understand the situation. He also cautioned me that the cover must be returned in "like new" codiation.

I returned the cover, and approx 2 weeks later I received it back along with a lett that the cover was dirty, wrinkled and had bir droppings on it, so no refund would be issed. I called the "return specialist" and explained thqat the cover was on a clean boat for 20 minutes and the 'Dime Size" white mark was wax from a corner of the boat and not bird droppings! The boat is stored insided also!

The "Return Specialist" refused to issue and type of refund, regardless of the fact that this wron sized cover was the particular cover recomemded by their own customer service rep on the phone.I sent a very detailed letter to the company, explaining in detail, what took place, but it apparentely fell on deaf ears.

This is supposed to be a highly respected company to do business with, but I guess I found out exactly what kind of businees model they really follow.

I have since begun to post handouts at any marina, boat store, equipment store, boat show and docking business I come across. Grated, $400.00 in not alot of money when it comes down to owning a  boat, but I coukld not even get a replacement from them, for which I would not have written this letter!!!

To my satisfaction, I know of 37 boat owners that have purchased boat covers, etc from a different source.

A terrible place to do business with. Beware!
