MO URENA answered one of my gig ads on CL to build a swing bed. He is a scammer! Do not hire this guy!
His deal is he low bids the job. Then when he arrives he says he needs to get supplies and then says he "will show up tomorrow."
Was really knowledgeable and SEEMED trustworthy. Told me to will call Home Depot supplies then I can pay then he will pick up.
BUT when he needed something at a store that was not open on Saturday, he said he'd run to the store NOW to get the item.
I gave him the cash he said see you tomorrow and never saw him again.
He uses an online phone # called TEXT MESSENGER It's a site scammers use with bogus phone #'s.
Here is his picture. He accidentally showed me a FB picture of something and I was lucky enough to get his name! SCORE!
Says he might work at El Rey Cantina in Ventura as a cook. He told me he went to Cordon Bleu in Pasadena and is a chef also. Told me he did chef work for Cedric the Entertainer, which is why he showed me his Facebook. He said he does carpentry work with his dad on the side for extra money. I have also contacted local law enforcement.
Beware... He seems to do it on a Friday, so he can say the store is CLOSED tomorrow. Only will get a little from you like $50-$100. If he does that 5 times a day... he's making good money scamming!!! Thank God I didn't pay for the materials at WILL CALL at Home Depot! He would have just stole everything.
