The report fits my experience in part. In actual fact, I have come to the conclusion that ALL hearing aids are poorly made and require the level of maintenance of a space ship.
I bought my 'Miracle Ear' hearing aids in March, 2012. I have had to go back to the outlet 10 miles from my home repeatedly because (1) the hearing aid stopped functioning and had to be be returned to the factory and replaced (twice), (2) electronic/computer settings required constant adjusting,
and (3) I misled about the product.
When purchasing the hearing aids, I was told they were water proofed. The audiologist/technician was fired and the new person explained that only the highest priced model is water proof (another $1,500(??) and doers not use rechargeable batteries.
These hearing aids have a tendency to corrode in humid and tropical climates.
Is there anything better out there? I doubt it. As near as I can determine, all hearing aids sold in the US are cheap, poorly made European imports. Good value for the money it is NOT.
