MINTON'S BLACK BELT ONE FREE CLASS -BOLOGNA-$414.00
May 23, 2000 a friend of my son's took him to a free tae kwon doe class. If this kid brought a friend in he was to get $25.00 in taekwondo money. I thought this was a one time thing to help my sons friend out. Twenty minutes later my son calls me to say Ann Minton wont let me take the class unless you come sign for me to participate. He's only 9 so I figured an adult signature for thier protection. From the moment I met Ann she was very pushy telling me to sign him up, 30 day free trial, great trainers, curriculum requirements, ect. I stated very clearly I did not want to sign him up, only one free class!!!!!
She completly ignored me and said oh honey your son will love this, all kids do and his friend will get $25.00 taekwondo money,
you can't beat this offer. She is a snake so beware. I refused to sign any agreement sheets, but only signed the general information forms so he could attend this one free class. But she insisted for me to give my account # out to her and I said I don't give that out to anyone. Ann stated well that's how we do our billing direct deposit. Bull, not out of my account, she's not. As you see she's very pushy, and doesent listen to the customer. After 30 minutes of her hustling me I walked out, and my son NEVER took that free class he was offered. So several weeks later June 23, 2000 my husband went up and spoke with Ann to see exactly what they were pulling on me, and to his surprise and mine remember that contract agreement for 6 MONTHS for 69.00, I refused to sign, well someone other that myself signed it,and didn't even spell my name right. Well Ann Minton refused to listen to anything my husband said after she stated WE WILL SUE YOU FOR MONEY OWED TO US. My little boy is 9 and I as a mother would never sign him to a contract for 6 months. She gave my husband after one month the contract agreement I was suposed to get that very same day if I were to have signed it, but one month it took them to forge it and for me to get it. Ann refused to date this paper when she handed it to him, so my husband refused to leave the building until they called 911 to sign and date it. After 10 minutes they called and he did get it dated. Ann said she would sue us, so he figured the date would come in handy. Even though I did not use any of thier services nor did I agree or sign the contract, I did pay the 85.00 to cancel this agreement, that I never did agree to in the first place. But I cannot let this ruin my credit either. I am planning on counter suing these people. Please beware of this ATA black belt acadamy in Terre Haute. Lets put a stop to these people once and for all. Without everyones 6 month agreement they would not be in business, now would they?
