We recently had our car serviced at Midas. The job included new brakes, oil change, transmission oil change, and radiator flush. Later that evening, my husband checked the oil level and it was a quart and a half too high!! As you know, this can lead to costly damage, if it hadn't been discovered quickly. We drained the extra oil (even though we paid someone,so we wouldn't have to mess with it) and decided not to call and complain. Immediately following the service, we also noticed the car was pulling hard to one side and it felt like a wheel was going to shake off.

As a result, my husband took the car to another mechanic. They decided to put new tires on (the ones we had on were only 2 years old). When the mechanic got the car he called my husband to the bay to show him that the wheel was extremely loose and the brake job was shabby, to say the least. As a result, we were forced to align the front end and the front wheels were worn out on the inside and outside, but the tread was fine. In addition, there was approximately 2 quarts too much transmission fluid and antifreeze leaked for 2 days after the service.

My husband called the Midas shop that did this work. The manager, but he talked to someone at the service desk and he was, to say the least, very unprofessional and argumentative.

He cursed a least 3 times during the conversation. This is the first complaint I've ever launched against a company providing me with any kind of service. Later, he spoke to the manager and was told we should have brought it back that same day and he refused to apologize or offer to fix the problem. In the end, he's only comment was "Are we through talking?"

I have since seen a number of complaints against Midas and would advise anyone to take their vehicle somewhere else. Their technicians are rude and incompetent (esp. for being so overpriced) and you can believe that neither they nor corporate will do anything to resolve problems with their service.
