Do not go to the West Hartford, Connecticut  Midas shop. Go somewhere else, since the management and costs for oil changes are higher, and the management is not customer oriented.

Several MIDAS web site contact forms completed, , a call to the Midas customer service main offic, a call to the West Hartford assiatant store manager, and a call from the West Hartford store manager has not been satisfactory. All they offered was a apology. They said my young daughter signed the authorization. So a coupon for $24.99 for an oil change was instantly changed to the regular price cost of $29.99 due to the added $5.00 for the 5w20 oil.

The West Hartford shop owes me $5 for charging  extra for 5w20 oil required in a 2014 Ford Fiesta. This is the first time in 30 years any MIdas shop has charged extra for conventional oil no matter the "W" or weight of the oil.

Plus other shops charge only $19.99, $21.99 or less for the same oil change and service. Do I have to go to another shop for oil changes? YES, YES,YES.

All I got was an apology from the manager 10/16/14, then after filing several more complaints with the Midas customer service, and filing a Rip-Off report, and other complaint type web sites, the manager called and offered $5 off the next oil change!!! Would you go there again??  I told him NO, just mail me the $5 refund since I will never return to your Midas Shop.

Calls by me and the manager  to other oil change shops, yielded that no one, no one, charges extra for 5w20 oil, since the cost is so insignificant. His Midas at 918 New Britain Avenue in West Hartford, Connecticut is the only shop that charges $5 extra for 5w20 oil. Seems the West Hartford store is capitalizing on the requirement of 5w20 oil in some new cars and are getting people to pay $5 more. The other shops said to the manager and me, they do not charge for the required 5w20 oil, even if it was a few cents more per quart, because they want the return business for other auto repairs, and if a few cents is lost on an oil change, so be it, they now have a customer.

Do not go to the West Hartford Midas. Go somewhere else, since the management is not customer friendly.
