Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

MetroPCS fails to deliver on promised $50 rebate. Instead they keep saying that I did not activate phone within specified time period, which was contradicted when they said that the phone was activated via email from Parago.com. I am getting nowhere with these people. Please note that the MetroPCS store in San Mateo, CA is pretty sketchy too as they got me to sign up for the $60 plan when I only wanted the $40 plan. They also said that the rebate was no good, but I read the fine print and the instructions, and figured that it was just a lack of sales training/misinformation. I used the website to get my payment back down to $40. The whole irony of this is that they have a good business model; I do not really have any issues with call quality or data speeds on my 4G phone at half the cost of what I was paying Sprint for years.

Anyway, I continue to spend some of my spare time trying to make them make good. It has become a little fun hobby for me. These people are flat out brain dead. I really hope there will be a class action lawsuit against these people. The problem is, is that only the Lawyers win and everyone else gets a check for $1.23 or something like that. $50 rebate is no big deal to me, but it is still money and it is a matter of principle. I do not promise anything I can't deliver. Why should a corporation be any different?

It seems like there is yet another disturbing trend going on in corporate America. For these people, it seems like a lucrative stream of income to offer rebates as an incentive to buy something. Not only does a sizeable portion of consumers forget to submit the actual rebate form, but if they do they can just not pay you or say your submission is invalid and not give a reason (or a chance to correct anything so you can get your rebate). This is sort of like the gift card debacle where stores love selling gift cards because they get cash upfront but know a large number of recipients will either lose, forget to redeem, or not use the entire ballance, thus adding extra profit. I can't blame them. Its too bad that America's "Best and brightest" use their brainpower to think of this stuff instead of doing something productive for society.
