In September Deric Scott called me about purchasing gold and convinced me to transfer my IRA account with Schwab to a new custodian, New Direction Trust. He then talked me through an online electronic purchase order for gold and silver from his company.

Mr Scott never disclosed the price that I was paying for his gold and silver. I calculated that I was being charged twice the spot price of gold and silver and contacted Mr Scott the next day, during the period of right of recision, as to why I was being charged so much. He never responded. When I told him a few days later that I did not want the coins that his company had minted especially for metals.com (nobody wants them) but wanted American gold eagles, he indicated that he would gladly make the change for me after the special coins were delivered to Brinks in Salt Lake City.

The last communication that I have had from Mr Scott was that only a partial order had been delivered to Brinks. Every Monday for several weeks I called and left a message for  Mr Scott for an update on my order, but never received a response. After finally contacting New Direction Trust, and finding out that the gold and silver were delivered and at what price I was charged, it appears that Mr Scott has swindled me out of half of my life savings. No one at metals.com will return my calls or answer my emails.

I have been contacted by Metals.com and am currently working with a customer service representative to return the gold and silver coins. I resend my accusation that I was swindled by Metals .com

Again refusing to communicate

After a few weeks communicating by phone with Anthony Bowers, Metals.com customer service representative, and being assured that he was going to help me return the gold and silver to Metals, I am again unable to get in contact with Metals.com.

I was told by Mr Bowers that I would receive a call from their legal department within 72 hours on Jan 4. A week later I still had not received a call so I called Mr Bowers and left a message requesting a return call. I was not called back. A few days later I again called with my request for a return call and also sent an email requesting the same return call.

I have not heard from them. Once again they have gone dark. Please make note that it is the practice of Metals to do all communication/transactions by phone thereby not leaving a record of what was said or committed to. Beware of this practice. Do not let this happen to you.
