Merrick Bank refusal to reverse obvious charge that was fraud Old Bethpage New York
Booked a hotel in las Vegas paid with Merrick Bank Visa online. When the next statement arrived, there was a charge for $ 119.00 from the hotel for which there was no explanation. Notified Merrick Bank. They said they would look into it.
When the next statement arrived the charge was still there. Called them back, and was told: "We contacted the hotel, and they told us they didn't make a mistake". What! I sent a receipt for the online booking, which was $ 98.00. Also sent an internet article about, " Hidden hotel resort fee fraud," but it did no good.
They refused to reverse the charges. Spent a lot of time on hold with Merrick Bank customer service, and a lot of effort trying to understand the bad english of the customer service representative.
