Why would you be on ripoff report just looking up negative things about the melting pot????? Does not make any sense unless you are a manager or a owner. So you are going to tell me you are customers????????? DO not believe you at all but nice try !

We have a Melting Pot in our area too. Yes, it is expensive, but you pay for the ambience and type of food-Fondue. It is great for a nice date or a large get together.
Everytime I've been there, they give you a LARGE amount of food. You should have purchased a meal, which comes with EVERYTHING, including the salad, cooking broth, vegetables, ravioli and dessert.
It's a relatively up-scale restaurant where I am (Washington DC metro area).
By the way you spell and your grammar, maybe you shouldn't go back there.

I would def agree with you phill215. I did once eat at the melting pot and the food did suck. I did not know at first you had to cook the food as well. This place is way over priced. It is funny this came up because I was just telling a friend how bad this place was ....Have a good day!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! you must work at the restaurant to be this bitter. We both did not like the food. I am not cheap at all !!!! Why would i pay top price for food does not taste good and I haft to cook the food myself.I can go to a 5 star restaurant and pay the same price and the food is 10 times better?????????????? My girlfriend was the one who brought the prices up not me, I did agree with her. FYI I was told by a friend that you did haft to cook your own food and that the food sucked I took my chance and gave it a shot to try something different and I maid a mistake by going there. I am just letting people know what they are in for before the go there as well. I just do not think that the prices should be as high for a place that you cook your own food. Also for the price I would think you would get a bit more. I understand why you are mad you just never ate good food before....

I have been to The Melting Pot a couple of times. Yeah, it's on the expensive side, but it is more of a high end restaurant, a romantic alternative to McDonalds that you seem more accustomed to. How could you not know that you'd be cooking your own food on the fondue pot on your table? or is there some other way to make fondue?
You weren't ripped off, you're just cheap.

Your Girlfriend suggested the place as a nice place to go, and you had no clue what it was. Because the theme of the restaurant IS Fondue, and that is does mean you cook it yourself. They do not advertise themselves as a "family" restaurant, and is mainly for people who want to go out for a special occasion. If you want a family restaurant go to McDonalds or IHOP.
If you came up with the idea of going there, not sure how these concepts would have passed you by. By the way the prices are about on-par with any other higher-end restaurant.
Just too bad you didn't order the dessert platter.
