Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I originally signed up with a promise to make extra money. I soon realized this was nothing more than an Avon type company, this was in December of 2013. I returned the inferior and quite overpriced products and did get a refund.

During the first week of January of 2014 i got a mystery charge on my credit card statement from "Melaleuca backup order"  in the amount of $69.xx. I again returned the inferior and overpriced products recieved a refund and sent a letter cancelling my membership. I did not set up any "backup order" when i signed up and even then the products they sent the second time seemed to be a random assortment of "eye health" vitamins. I notified my bank of the error on Melaleuca Inc.'s part. I thought my days with Melaleuca Inc. were over.

During the first week of February 2014 another charge from "melaleuca backup order in the amount of $69.xx. I thought I had cancelled my membership,...in writing. So i called and was bounced between 3 operaters before i reached i supervisor. (the operators didnt like my attitude, lol) The supervisor explained to me that a refund could not be issued because I signed up and didnt cancel. I explained that i did and sent it with my return. He told me that is the wrong address and couldnt issue the refund. After a few minutes of "re-explaining my situation" so to speak, he told me if I returned the products and promised to cancel at the correct address he could issue a refund to my account.

So I returned the products and waited. I thought they had duped me but i recieved a call today from the same supervisor i spoke with originally. He told me the products were recieved so he could "make and exception" and issue the refund.

If you want to cancel your membership and have the Melaleuca fraud stop you must do this as told to me by a supervisor at Melaleuca Inc. Send a letter with the following information; name on the membership, address on the membership, customer number, phone number, state you want to cancel membership, hand signature and date. Mail it to Melaleuca Inc. 3910 S. Yellowstone Hwy. Idaho Falls, ID 83402 ATTN: Data Entry. You can also fax the same letter to 1888-528-2090, make sure it is to the ATTN Data Entry. Also if you call Melaleuca Inc.'s order number at 1800-282-3000 enter extension 7035, it is a very helpful supervisor by the name of Cameron.

I sincerely hope this info helps someone who fell into the Melaleuca trap. The terms are confusing and decietful and unethical. Nobody should do buisness like this.

Our famiy have been with Melaleuca for more than 3 years now. And I could not say anything bad about it so far. Our son had severe eczema, and the only thing that worked for him was the Renew lotion. We changed all of our usual home cleaners to Melaleuca products and noticed a big difference in our overall health and well-being.

If you are not satisfied, it is easy to cancel or suspend your membership. You just have to go to your My Account and choose Other Options and then Cancel Preferred Customer Benefits. That should give you clear instructions on how to close your account. Even the paper document you signed spells out that you can "cancel anytime" and how to do it.

If you're already receiving Benefits from Melaleuca, you don't want to just loose those benefits by a mere phone call, right? It has to be in writing.

By the way, you can fax your Cancelation form, so you don't have to mail it.

Tha Back-Up is a protection for your Benefits that we derive from Melaleuca in exchange for our loyalty. As Preferred Customers of Melaleuca, we get the following benefits: 30-40% discount to high quality, better and safer products for our home and our environment, access to The Marketplace (wherein you can save a whole lot more... I don't know if you've used it, it's really very useful), you get a $100 of Loyalty shopping dollars which you can get easily just by watching a couple of videos about Melaleuca products, and then you get 10% back as Loyalty shopping dollars whenever you shop with Melaleuca from your 6th month onwards.

If you don't want better products than the grocery store products then just become a Direct Customer of Melaleuca. That is also another option that you can find on your Customer Agreement. You don't have to buy every month from Melaleuca. And you don't receive any Back-up order.

Hope this helps.

I know how to read the terms. I was fine with ordering my own products every month to accumulate enough points as per the membership agreement. What I dont agree with is some Melaleuca rep forging my initials onto the signup sheet. I opted to choose my own products every month so that I could sample everything before I set on a constant order. This can be proven with a forensic handwriting expert. And if I had chosen at signup a "backup order" shouldnt I have gotten the same thing with each order? Not a different assortment each time? Melaleuca Inc., in their greed did not give me the oppurtunity to choose my own products and instead sent a random order each time and charged my credit card. The products I did sample were inferior and not cost effective by any means. The fish oil vitamin liquid tasted absolutely horrible. The thyme "environmentally sound" cleaner couldnt clean anything.

Also as long as nobody ingests the average cleaning product they are completely safe. They also clean much better that anything I tried from Melaleuca. Also the cancellation terms are not clearly listed and are decietful in it's wording. Besides being to small to read without a microscope. Thats okay though Melaleuca Inc. a fraund alert has been placed on my account and it is closed so hopefully you dont try to charge it again.

Also Melaleuca, at their presentation claim a 95% return customer rate. I think he meant 95% of people cannot get out of the Melaleuca Trap.

I am responding to the person who is complaining about their back up order with Melaleuca.  I absolutely love the Melaleuca products and am a user since 1992.  Unfortunately, you did not pay any attention at your presentation and therefore you received a back up order.  Or you did not take the time to read any of your paperwork.  The fault should fall on your shoulders for this situation.

My response to this person is you did not give the products a fair shake and if you think these products are inferior then you don't understand what is being sold at your local market with all of the chemicals which can cause cancer, learning disabilities and other problems.  I hope this person in the future will come back and take a closer look at the wonderful products we have to offer and the phenomenal business behind it.

The beauty behind the back up order is the regular income a person can count on month after month to pay bills with, instead of MLM's that ask people to purchase $1000's of dollars to purchase one time - if you are a great salesperson you can sell this a few times.  If you are not a great salesperson then you will not make money.  Since I am not a great salesperson Melaleuca works perfect for me, because I care about people and do not want them to be hurt.

Please find someone else in Melaleuca that can do a better job at enrolling you into this wonderful complany.
