I can't believe Megan Acred Kuehl is allowed to operate a sunless tanning business! She is the biggest con-artist I have ever encountered! First, her ex-husband and her operated a shady concrete business for years until several lawsuits forced them out of business! Next she operated an underground, unlicensed nail salon out of her home in the most deplorable, filthy conditions. I met Megan at church bible study and she acted like she was knowledgeable and claimed to have a "certification" in sunless tanning so I called her number. She I formed me she was "certified" in this process and that she used a proprietary "organic" tanning solution. She set the appointment for me to come to her home at 4000 Morris Lane in Arlington, Texas, claiming she had a tanning "studio" in her home. Upon my arrival, she informed me that all sessi ok ns required prepayment upfront and she collected my $80. Then she walked me into her kitchen, (which had rat droppings, kids toys and filth all over the floor) where she wanted me to stand in the middle of her kitchen in a makeshift tent with house fan. It smelled like an animal died and she had just sprayed something in an attempt to mask it but made it so much more worse!
I was appalled! I shared my apprehension with her and asked if we could do this in the "salon" she told me she had over the phone, and she replied, "Um, this is my salon!" Since she already collected my $80, and she informed me I wasn't getting a refund, she kept reassuring me that everything would be fine, it would only take a few minutes, I would love my new tan and I would be on my way. I was getting this done so I could look less pale for my best friend's wedding and wanted to look great in my outfit. Needless to say, it was a complete train wreck! Within 10 minutes after leaving, I broke out in a horrible rash! I thought it was just a slight sensitivity, but after an hour, it continued to worsen until I ended up in the emergency room! My doctor later told me I had an allergic reaction called "contact dermatitis" which was directly attributed to the chemicals she used in her tanning solution! After informing Megan of all of this, she blamed ME for having an unknown skin condition that I failed to notify her of. I later discovered her "certification" was nothing more than her and her daughter, Macy Boortz, attending a weekend class of spray tanning each other and other participants.
I was shocked to discover that there are virtually no licensing or regulations to operate a spray tanning business. However, the City of Arlington Texas does not permit a business such as this to be operated out of a residence and they were quite interested in my complaint. I discovered later, this is probably why she has changed the name of her business from "GloGirl Sunless Tan" to "Boot Scootin Bronze Sunless" in less than 3 months. No telling what she will call herself after this report. If you meet Megan Acred Kuehl I would advise you to run away and whatever you do, DO NOT ALLOW HER TO SPRAY ANYTHING ON YOUR SKIN, OR TOUCH YOUR NAILS! Now I hear she is going into the real estate business and getting her real estate license! God help anyone who has her as a real estate agent! Hopefully, the State of Texas will step in and prevent her from ripping people off in real estate transactions! After filing my complaint with the BBB, and taking to social media, I discovered Megan Acred Kuehl has a long list of dissatisfied customers and lawsuits ranging from a failed concrete business with her ex-husband, operating an illegal and unlicensed nail salon out of her unsanitary, rat infested home. Sadly, I'm now just another victim of Megan Acred Kuehl. Hopefully, Rip Off Report can help prevent someone else from falling victim to her fraudulent tanning business.

I don't know why "angie" seems to have a personal axe to grind but I'm kind of stunned by the total vitriol and character defamation included in her review. If you don't like the tan, if you had a problem with dermatitis, ok - just tell the story and get on with it. But the detailed histrionics about ex-husbands, unrelated businesses, and for heavens sake NUDE spray tanning have nothing to do with the services.
Ms Kuehl has a good reputation in the community and this is the ONLY time I have heard anything less than positive about her character and her service.

Megan Kuehl is now taking her spray tan con scheme on the road by offering to go into the homes of men and perform her "services" in the nude! Beware! There's no telling what she will resort to next to earn a buck while operating her illegal, unlicensed spray tanning business.

I just received information that Megan Kuehl continues to operate her illegal spray tanning business in North Texas under yet another name: "Boot Scootin Bronze Sunless". Now Megan is performing her dirty deeds inside the homes of her unsuspecting victims! She goes to the homes of men, performs her "spray tans" in the nude for additional tips. Everything is kept off the books because Megan Kuehl is going through a very nasty divorce, as she will quickly let you know, and she is desperate for money and wants it all under the table to avoid having to claim any business revenue during her divorce! Performing spray tans in the nude! There's no telling what lengths she will go to rip off more victims!
