7-12-2016

Around 1:15 p.m. this afternoon I answered a call on my phone from Jamaica.  This man asked if I was the person he named and I said yes.  He then told me his name was James Hernandez and he was calling from his company, Mega Millions Cash Award Company and informed me that I had won $11 million, five hundred thousand dollars and a new 2016 Mercedes Benz.  I asked how could I have won this when I didn't enter any contests etc.  He said, my name was automatically entered through my telephone company, certain stores I shopped at and from your tax information, etc.

He had some information he wanted me to write down, which I did.  He gave me his contact number 718-747-999.  He then gave me a pkg. # El646784692 for the money and car and said a Mary Smith would be accompanying the prize delivery and that she was in Portland, Oregon waiting for delivery.  He asked if I was over 60, if I was working, and if I was married. Those were the questions he said, he had to ask me.

He then asked if I wanted this delivery to be public or private.  Also, he told me that they would pay the taxes on the winnings, except for 1%, which I would have to pay.  I asked how much that would be.  He said, it would be $399.00.  Next he asked me to take down the information so I could pay this 1%.

I was to go to the nearest Walmart and get a moneygram and have it sent to a Beatta Kostur or Kosfur, I wasn,t quite sure of those two letters, the s or the f.  He asked me to repeat all the information he had given me from his name on down to the moneygram and if I understood what I needed to do.  I said, yes.  This Beatta was also in Portland, Or.

He asked me how long it would take for me to get this moneygram and get back home.  I said, probably about 4:00 p.m. He said, this needs to be done as early as possible.  I live in the country, I told him, but I'll do it by 3:00 p.m.  He then told me, as soon as you get back home, call me and let me know that you have the receipt for the moneygram and your winnings will be delivered.  I said, O.K.

He's going to have a long wait because this whole thing smelled of a scam.  I just wanted to report this so hopefully others don't fall for it.  The thoughts of winning big money temps alot of people and it even sounded good to me, but believe me, I have been scammed a couple of times and I've wised up.  If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is.  These people need to be made accountable for what they do.  They make their living ripping off people.  It needs to stop.
