SC recently contracted with a company called MTM (Medical Transportation Management) to serve as a sort of "dispatch" that in turn hires vendors, such as Senior Solutions, to provide transportation to medicaid participants.

I work in a senior care facility. For the past two weeks, the vendor that MTM has set up for our residents has repeatedly failed to pick up residents for dialysis, has left patients at physicians offices, never showing to pick them up, and has caused at least one resident to wait at the dialyis clinic for nearly 6 hours before picking him up.

In every instance, I and the Dialysis clinic have been calling and calling both MTM and Senior Solutions to ask that the residents be picked up, with no response whatsoever. Both companies have denied any responsibility in any of these matters, each continuing to blame the other for the problems.

MTM tells me that my resident is in their system for transportation on MWF until October of this year...Senior Solutions can never tell me (even a day before) whether they have this man on their roster for the next day.

I'm not sure who decided to "fix" the way medicaid transportation is done in this state, but it is a disaster. Bottom line, and this may be the worst part of the whole mess, I'm almost positive MTM and Senior Solutions have been paid for transporting residents that they have repeatedly failed to pick up for appointments, or return back home once their appointments are done. How does this "fix" anything???
