I would like to let everyone know the problems I have had with this company. I canceled my service with them a year ago because of the unprofessional way they work. Stuff like, I would get statements for my cell phone with out any detail of who I called, having to wait on hold for 15 to 20 minutes before I could get anyone to pick up, etc. When I closed my account I asked for a final billing amount and paid it only to get another statement 2 months later with the explaination that they are 2 months behind and so my "Final" billing amount when I closed the account was not the "Final". I went ahead and paid this in July of last year.
Then in March of this year, I received a letter stating that I still owed money and that if I sent 50% now they would except this as a settlement. When I called them on this they informed me that it was a mistake and to disregard the letter. It stated in that letter that I should take this opportunity "to avoid further legal action and to protect my credit rating..." when I asked about this they said that they don't report to a credit company. So this was just a scare tatic in my opinion.
One month later, I receive a letter from a collection agency stating that I need to pay them for this debt. So once again I called MCI and was on hold for 20 minutes before I got a live person. Again, they informed me that it was a mistake and it would be taken care of. When I asked what I needed to do inorder for this not to happen again, I was told someone would call me back. I will see if that happens.
I just want everyone to know what an unprofessional business this is.
