I've been reading your rip off stories regarding mci world com wireless and and totally relate. From the very start of my contract (which I thought was going to be with Verizon, I later found out that Verizon was only the service and MCI was the carrier)I have had nothing but problems with my service in addition to the very worst customer service I've ever had to deal with.

To begin with, when I was issued my new phone I was given a phone number with a different area code than where I lived. Every time I dialed out I had the inconvenice of dialing with a different area code.

When I finally was issued a new number with the correct area code it took MCI World com a WHOLE WEEK to get my new number working. After that incident I had problems with my phone, I had to mail them my phone and use a loner for a couple months. When I got my old phone back (incidentaly the problem could have been fixed remotely) it took MCI (3) days to connect my service.

In the mean time almost every bill I have received has had an error on it. I have spent countless frustrated hours trying to get ahold of their crummy customer service, most of the time to be put on endless hold, then only to be disconnected!

MCI has recently cut my service due to a late payment. I was never notified of this disconnection, I had to call them. When I did talk to a service rep. I told her the check had been mailed and that I didn't have a problem with their disconnection due to non-receipt of payment but that the minute they cashed my check I did expect my service on.

Today is Tuesday November 27th, my check payable to MCI cleared on November 23rd!! I STILL HAVE NO SERVICE. I have tried all day to contact a service rep only to get a recording that they cannot take calls as they are too busy.

Have they breached their contract by cashing my check and not turning on my service? I would like to be part of a class action suit it possible.

The latest update on my cell phone: after days of trying to contact customer svc by phone (and EMail) I finally got thru on 11/29/01. I asked why my cell phone service had not been connected, since they had cashed my check on 11/23/01! I was told that "I" had to be the one to call them and have the phone service turned back on!!! I explained to the rep that I had been trying to call for days and even EMailed (with no response)she told me it would take from 24 to 72 hours to have my phone back on. I told her that I should get some credit to my account for the inconvenince she told me no, that "that's not part of my contract", she then put me on hold, and came back to tell me that I had been completely disconnected and that I would have to be issued a new cell number. I told her that per the notice dated 11/16/01 sent by MCI that I had 10 days to pay before disconnection, reiterating that they had cashed my check on the 23rd. I asked her why I had been disconnected, she could not give me an answer, once again I asked for a credit due to the major inconvenience, again she told me no. I asked to speak to a manager, she said they'd call me back. As of this time (4:45 pm) I have not heard back. NEVER HAVE I DEALT WITH A MORE UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY!
