Matthew Aylworth, who collects for Bank of America, American Express and several other banks in the western US region, has received two additional formal reprimands from the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) for his ethical violations pertaining to the Darvin Grigg case (a disabled man on Social Security), and another consumer in Western Washington. The case Proceeding Number is 12#00119.

Mr. Grigg's story can be read on this website at this url:

Information regarding a previous reprimand Aylworth received in Oregon can be read on this website as well:

As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon church) in Eugene, Oregon, Aylworth is also a alum of Brigham Young University and Willamette University.

Aylworth's discipline from WSBA is as follows: probation for "up to one year," completion of a six-hour ethics course in October, $150 enrollment fee for the course, and $750 administrative costs. The reprimands will be published in NW Lawyer, a WSBA publication.

Fewer than 1% of written complaints submitted to the Washington State Bar Association advance to disciplinary stages; that Aylworth has received two additional reprimands could be considered rather compelling. If you have information to share with WSBA during or after Aylworth's probationary period, please visit http://www.wsba.org/Licensing-and-Lawyer-Conduct/Discipline/File-a-Complaint-Against-a-Lawyer.

Aylworth is also licensed with the Bars in Oregon and Idaho. To file a complaint with the Oregon Bar, please visit http://www.osbar.org/_docs/discipline/ComplaintForm.pdf. To file a complaint with the Idaho Bar, please http://isb.idaho.gov/bar_counsel/complaints.html. You may also wish to file complaints with your state Attorneys General, Departments of Licensing and the Federal Trade Commission.

An update: the Bar Associations in Oregon and Idaho have each issued two reprimands of Matthew Aylworth stemming the Washington reprimands.

Immense gratitude is owed to RipOff Report for providing this spot on the web to make complaints about Matthew Aylworth and the Daniel N. Gordon collection agency. Victims who read here were relieved to learn they weren't alone. Some of them indirectly found each other through the posting about the Darvin Grigg case, and then contacted the Bar in Washington together.

The public naturally fears being sued by unethical, manipulative bullies with law degrees, which means that few of their victims ever come forward to the mainstream media. Posting anonymously here is what eventually got Aylworth those reprimands. He and Daniel Gordon deserve much greater professional penalties than that, but it's a good start.
