Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I don't even know where to being with this guy.  He agreed to sell me an Elvis Presley album for about $200.  It was still sealed and one that I had wanted for a long time.  I made no secret that I was desperate to get it.

So we had the deal in place and then he decided he wanted more.  Ok fine.  I want the album really bad so Ok.  Then he says that he doesn't have a PayPal account and doesn't want a check or a money order because then he has to go to a bank.  Pretty strange, but whatever.  I'll send you cash via registered mail.

Then Matt says that what he really needs is a video camera because the one he had fell into water and was ruined.  He sent me a link to one on Amazon and since it was about the same price, I agreed to buy the camera and send it to his address.  I was pretty leary about doing this for obvious reasons but in the end decided, what the heck.  It was shipped two day priority and I had the tracking information so I knew for a fact when it got dropped off.

That's when the sob story began.  His dad had a serious stroke so he had to take care of his dad.  Who lived 9 hours out of town.  And not one post was made on his Facebook page about his dad.  Not one.  However, there were posts about his latest TV appearances and dates given for when he was going to be doing his unintentionally funny Elvis impersonator act.  To call it bad and tasteless would be to overstate it.  His audiences seemed to have been bused in from local retirement communities.  But I digress....

Since he wasn't at home he couldn't verify that the camera was there so guess what?  I'm not getting my album.  This went on for a couple of weeks.  Of course all this time he said he was taking care of his dad (even though he claimed that hospice was taking care of him) and then I find out that Matt Elvis Dollar tried to get another seller of Elvis albums in on his scheme to send me a different album.  Thankfully the other person is honest and smelled a rat named Matt and contacted with the messages Rat, er, Matt had sent him proving that Matt was trying to screw me.  I showed Matt the e-mail and he of course denied that was going on.  Denied it completely and then he ranted and raved at me and used foul language.  He acted offended that I wouldn't believe him.  Sure, Rat, er, Matt.

He finally acknowledged that the camera had been delieverd but surprise, surprise, the battery was defective.  Nevermind the fact that the package included TWO batteries and the seller offered to send another one at no charge.  Not good enough for Matt.  He was concerned that the replacement one wouldn't work.  All this time all I wanted was the album.  Not too much to ask, right?  So I offered to buy a new battery myself and ship it to him at my expense.  Not good enough.  He STILL wouldn't send me the album that we agreed on.

In all fairness he did send me a different album for free, well, sort of for free (more on that later).  Of course my question was, if you could send me an album that I didn't really care about, why didn't you send me the album that you were supposed to in the first place.  No answer from Matt on that one.

This ended up going on for nearly two months with him having the camera and me not having anything.  So then he decides he'll just send the camera back and be done with it.  Fine.  At least I'll get my money back.  Funny thing happened on the way to the UPS store.  You guessed it.  He never sent it back.  His story was that "a friend" was supposed to take care of it and apparently never did so.  So, still no album, still no money back.

I finally gave Rat, er, Matt an ultimatum:  you will send me the money for the camera or the album by a certain time and day or I would be calling the Bristol City Police, the County Sheriff, and I would seek legal representation to take him to small claims court which was going to cost him a hell of a lot more than what the camera cost because I would be going for court costs, my costs assocciated with having to travel to TN, etc.  Wonder of wonders he sent a Postal Money Order via registered mail.

Remember the "free" album?  Ah, yes.  Not only did he take out money from the deal to pay for the registered letter (and presumably the actual money order), but he took out money for the postage to send me the "free" album.  So he screwed me out of $28.  I guess I should be happy that I actually got something back from this creep.

My advice to anyone considering doing any business with Rat, er, Matt Elvis Dollar, leave the building!!  He is a liar, con man, and thief.

Look up Matt Dollar on here, there’s a report from 2013 when he was making costumes and puppets....oh and batmobiles, and would rip people off by never sending stuff. He’s been sued before. The story about his father being ill is one he tells often, even though his father lives in Kingsport or Bristol.

He has been married 4 or 5 times, so far. He’s abusive-verbally, physically, emotionally. He married someone while he was still married. Now he’s married to his cousin.
