Marriott Hotel,

Founded by the Marriott Family has changed since Bill Marriott Left the Building. I've asked our 140 country institution and 100,000's of thousands of CEO's not to stay at MARRIOTT or to book their convention at Marriott. The company in search of profits on a GREED FEST has left the customer expeirence behind.

Recently they are rolling out ( and the GM Assistant  I talked to having spent a life time IN the resort industry ) - that they are being FORCED to accept the roll out.

ROOM SERVICE - those of us who travel 300 days a year and book 10,000 room nights of convention buseinss ( pro's at the top ) creating tens of millions into resort business - are apprecaitive of the industry issues. When we order room service at a PREMIUM HOTEL paying for FULL SERVICE - we expect some mininum regular things. We want a bit of a home expeirence away from home. 

Marriott seeking to reduce cost on:

1. Room Service staff

2. Cleaning up plates and service wear

3. Prep of food in the first place

Now no longer offers a full menu and an TOTALLY AMERICAN EXPEIRENCE they were founded upon. They charge the same high rates for their rooms and their service and they charge the same FULL BOAT OF COSTING as if you were getting the traditional service. Only now you get Fresh Bites.

FRESH BITES IS A FULL AND COMPLETE RIP OFF of the guest and traveler. Marriott has lost their stock price for more than their bid to become a monoply in the Hotel Industry and this RIP OFF is one reason the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION should and must explore blocking on anti trust rules this consolidation of resorts so there will be zero competition. Starwood still offers a SUPER SERVICE a light in the dark today.

Marriott now offers the room service guest - no option remains now  for an American Breakfast an expeirnce the Marriott Family prided itself - and defined its brand against. Today the Traveler ( me ) every day - and 1,000,000's of "us" are trashing Marriott Stock as guests leave in droves - because Management does NOT CARE ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE AGAINST THEIR GREED AND PROFIT MAKING - which falls under the catagory watching their stock price dive as everyone and I mean everyone dumps their stock - we did - globally too - and we are influencing others to do so too - their brand no longer accomodates the EXPEIRENCE OF THE GUEST FIRST. Today you get:

1. A short form menu with a few items on it versus a full menu FULL SERVICE HOTELS like Hilton Embassy Suites Starwood branded properities and others - your alaternative still offer everywhere - so why stay at Marriott for the reduced service at the PEAK PRICE still.

2. You order and get a BLACK BAG - no plates - no silverware - just plastic forks like MacDonalds. But your paying PREMIUM same price for plated service with tip included for the junk they call FRESH BITES. Folks - this is a RIP OFF period. Marriott is RIPPING YOU OFF. In quality of choice - menu items - you love and treasure - service that makes you have a tiny bit of home - while you are saving away. Now you can not get any option or choice but that BLACK BAG meal.

3. The food arrives all mixed and thown into a pile that looks like FIDO your dog should eat it. In the Black Back with its plastic utensils at the same old HIGH PREMIUM PRICE you are used to when Marriot has dropped their cost by half. GOOD DEAL FOR MARRIOT and its GREED MACHINE bad deal for their clients and customers. Folks given a choice do NOT STAY AT MARRIOTT and convention buyers - move to STARWOOD we did with all 10,0000 room nights - that was millions for just us to Marriott not counting our global CEO reach now pullng out of Marriott. I sold my stock watching it crash are you holding it? Why?

4. The waiter with the brown bag waits at the door for their tip - having done nothing but hand you a bag - just like they used to when then delivered a full plated service.

5. As Chairman of a global firm - I had a lot of calls to make to our 140 nation system - carrying Forbes highest ranking - so I asked for a large pot of coffee. "Oh sir we no longer do that we can only give you "one cup" in the Fresh Bite bag. I said I'll pay 100.00 dollars for a large pot of coffee can you see if some one can do that. The return no sir but we can give you two cups of coffee charing you 5.00 for the added cup in styrofoam - but that is all that will fit into the BITE SITE BAG. This is a RIP OFF from the service Marriott's family once prided it self on leading. Today you can feel the brand is left but the founders passion to service their clients has left the building.

In Summary: ( especially to convention buyers ):

1. Marriott to increase profits is offering a third world BAG meal expeirence to their cutomers at the same PEAK ROOM Service cost that was present in a FULL SERVICE offering only last year in 2015.

2. Marriott cares about PROFITS versus customers.

3. In giving you a fast food room service expeirence with less of a menu than fast food - you are paying PREMIUM PRICE in a FULL SERVICE HOTEL and you are being RIPPED OFF completely.

4. The experience the service and the moral are not hospitality - they are now fast food and fast service no longer is MARRIOTT FULL SERVICE. Do not be fooled CONVENTION BUYERS remain loyal to full service brands that put their cusotmer expeirene first and stop buying from those that do not. All your travelers and customers desere a better experience for their travel dollar. This is pay 5.00 dollars to get 1.00 . Marriott is a RIP OFF today.

5. If your ok with a reduced menu - a bag meal handed to you - versus an at home plated full menu choice and higher level experiecne - for the SAME PREMIUM HIGH DOLLAR you are in fact Marriott's sucker and your way over spending for what your receicing. Your a RIP OFF customer for sure.

 

Marriott Hotel Corporation is a RIP OFF and I stand behind this RIP OFF REPORT.

I've written their President CEO with my similar compliant and asked that he send that complaint to Bill Marriott who will not be amuesed. Given the millions their policy cost them just from our business alone.

One Expects,

 

Marriott will defend itself. Its agents and employee's will put silly replies into the mix. On Marriott Stock, we'll see how they fare as the FTC weights in on the anti trust issues of removing competition at this level into a monoply and how it effects cutomer service. 

You write Rip Off is for the little guy and the reply states anyone but the little guy should have no access to the Rip Off report, it is not for all of us. Well that I ll let readers define on their own.

So your views the little guy is the only user with entitlement to complain and that the stock price is only hit because the Chinese Pulled Out - begs the question of WHY DID THE CHINESE pull Out. A they knew the FTC was coming in again that will effect the stoc price and massively. Management has made a critical error which is typically for this crew - YOU not a little guy yourself - write about. Because your a hypocrit and share holder i suspect. I reported I no longer was a share holder - and i know the resort business because my family supplied it for 100 years.

I know the Marriott's. And this is not the Marriott the founder's envisioned.

You write I only complianed about room service. 

Travelers - the little guys - often have work loads that require room service. I complained about SERVICE hotel system wide - Marriott is more like a fast food space provider today than a hospitality leader. I complianed about THAT.

However room service, traditionally provides a menu compliment to the restaurant menu - no longer the case at Marriott - so they can profit from not washing dishes - utinsels and picking them up - and providing that level of having a little of LIKE HOME when away from home traditional to FULL SERVICE HOTELS.

As the trend for Marriott is to remove ammenities other hotels offer - like water in your hotel room - given the led in water in 32 states bottled water in the hotel room - even for sale water - being removed - is another inventory cost removal item - anything and everything for Marriott's present management crew - to depreciate the customer expeirence. Just look at the RIP OFF REPORTS on this brand as they are growing so fast.

Marriott's BAG SERVICE for room service is truly a MAJOR LOWERING OF GUESTS EXPEIRENCE. The fact that the PRICE remains unchanged whiile the service drops and rops is a TREND.

The public is being tested and I'm suggesting the CUSTOMER VOTE. With their wallets. I'm suggesting customers chose hotels that offer MENU's and CUSTOMER SERVICE so that when you order ROOM SERVICE you get a cost you expect but a service you can TRUST. When Marriott hands you that BAG of CRAP - and charges you the PRICE they used to charge for plates, a much higher food expeirence, and you felt well served - you KNOW you are being RIPPED OFF.

You suggest its no a big deal.

Hey in my case, being a little Chairman compared to the folks who read my blog, which is also going on and on about this - the millions "I" cost Marriott in 2016 is nothing compared to the tens of millions I will influence. Why?

To protect the buyers who underwrite hotel profits - so that the Marriott Hotel - via the Marriott family - simply draw their own red line for Management. Profits at any cost? In the end if you FAIL TO PUT YOUR CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE FIRST you are a pure rip off and you desere to lost your brand value and your market share.

Follks you have a choice. Check about ROOM SERVICE if that is an item for you but I suggest you rely and trust that FAST FOOD MARRIOTT is struggling to provide the quality of service of WENDY for Burgers. Chose a FULL SERVICE HOTEL who has the moral, the care, the training, the hospitality, Marriott once was known for before they lost their brand.

I expect Marriott workers to bellittle the RIP OFF going on but really what can you say. Yelp and Rip off are defining the MARRIOTT brand and every little guy buyer deserves better for their hard earned money.

Go on line and try other brands and you will see that "i" am right and come back and thank me.

You desere MORE than Marriott can deliver or even CARES TO DELIVER with this failed management crew. You bet the stock was up - it was up because of the bid to use massive debt to buy Starwood - not good for Marriott Shareholders - as the Chinese in review of the details - elected to BOW RIGHT OUT OF.

The Federal Trade Commisson will weigh in on this. I've offered to them to be a witness in thir up coming investigation of this terrible merger. Why trash Westin and Sheraton and get them on the BAG program too? I ask everyone reading this to write the FTC Anti Trust Division to BLOCK THIS MERGER. Lets keep the bag expeirence in the failed an sinking Marriott Brand.

Rebulding consumer trust upon a brand being trashed is not easy.

Marriott Stock price - is what you seem most concerned about - as a retired invetment banker - as in leading a global publically traded stock firm - I don't believe shareholders in Marriott are going to see the HIGH they expeirnced as anything but a bad joke and the future for shareholders in my opinion, which is not uninformed, is the valley is coming from the peak. If your holding on to your shares Pal - enjoy the ride down.

So just so I the entire premise of your "rant". 

Since the only thing you go on about is the Room Service.  This entire "rant" is based on the fact they have reduced the room service selections and that you no longer get Room Service on Trays.  That's it right?  Or did I happen to miss some other key complaint in your rant?

With that one has to ask, if you are really a CEO of a major company have already talked to 100's of thousands of other CEO's(who based on your inference totally agree with you).  Then with your actions causing them to loose 10,000 room nights and millions of dollars.  Why are you resorting to RipOff Report?  Not that this isn't a great site to report legitimate "RipOffs", but it is also for the regular person who doesn't normally have a voice.  Where quite frankly if they go to a "higher class" hotel room service is not a huge concern.

One other thing I noticed.  You talk about how their stock is being dumped.  If you look at the 1 year trend, it has actually increased about 10%.   The worst drop was a few days ago but that was due to the fact of the Chineese pulling out of a Merger deal, and I seriously doubt that it was because of Room Service.
