Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I accepted employment with Market Development Partners, hired by Ryan Scott (who had been there 4 months).  I took the position with the understanding of two things:  1) I would be paid $10 per hour  2) I would only be an appointment setter for a short time then they would place me in a more qualified position since they were "growing expendentially".

I went through a week of training (and I use that term loosely).  Here is what we were actually trained to do (other than use their software).....1) Lie  2) bulls&%$ and lie some more.   Typical, yes, but the red flags just kept going up.  We were never told what "client" we were selling (or appt setting) for.  Somehow we weren't allowed to have that information, even though we were representing them.

I can only assume we weren't given that information because we weren't allowed to tell our customers.....thats a little weird.   Also, if someone asked what company we worked for, we were never allowed to say "Market Development Partners", we had to say "Do you have a pen??  You can visit our website at blahblahtraveldiscounts.com"  What the heck kind of answer is that??  Thats a bullcrap answer to a very simple question.

We worked in a boiler room type of situation and only got 3 SCHEDULED ten minute breaks for an 8 hour shift......make sure you eat fast and pee on their schedule.

We were required to have a gmail account to use as our company e-mail.  We weren't part of Market Development Partners e-mail.  We had to have an e-mail that was not tied to MDP at all.  Although the people who work in the office all have MDP e-mail.  Such as Ryan, the guy who hired me, [email protected].  I have never worked anywhere (that had any integrity) that would require you to open your own personal e-mail address for work when the company itself had e-mail.  Especially as a hired employee and not an independant contractor who worked remotely.  Seemed shady.

Now, I know they are not the first or last company to pull this, there are literally thousands out there who operate unethically, finding loopholes and ways around an honest system in their daily activities.  Here is where my HUGE problem lies and why I am taking time to write this.  Due to a family emergency I was forced to resign from this position after only a couple of weeks.  Wasn't too upset at this since this job sucked, however, when I received my one and only paycheck from them it showed I was paid $7.65 per hour, not $10.

So I called and called and e-mailed Ryan.  Weeks later I get a check for the amount I was missing, but when I cashed it at my bank the check was RETURNED and it plus the return check fees overdrew my account and I was subsequently charged MORE fees.  Although I have called and e-mailed serval times I still have no resolution or even an honest answer to this situation.  They have completely ignored me.

Also, my kids medical insurance has been denied twice now because there "HR" person can't seem to take 5 minutes out of her day to complete (which she is required by law to do) an Employment Verification Form.  I have been asking and waiting for this form for about 2 months now and I have the documentation to prove it.  Even when my case worker at DES called she was told HR was in a meeting.

Everytime I call HR is in a meeting or she's not in the office, what does she do all day????  I got one person to give me a name to this mystery HR person.  Meradith (sp?).  I was given an e-mail for her [email protected] (wait....thats not MDP e-mail or a gmail....who the heck is "express investments"??) and a phone number 602.569.0481.

I called the number two days ago, left a message and still haven't heard back.  I tried to send an e-mail detailing all of my issues and it was immediately returned to me undeliverable.  Shocking, I know.

If I don't get the Employment form by Friday, my kids will be denied again.  I am taking this to the next level.  I have documented all my attempts and have turned them all in the the Dept of Econ Security.  Also, I have a new job (a real job, with a real company, with real integrity) that happens to be owned by a Scottsdale Police Detective who spends all day long investigating white collar crime, fraud, and unethical companies that screw people over.  He may not be in Phoenix, but it only takes 1 phone call from a reputable source (such as a fellow police officer) to ignite an investigation.

DON'T WORK FOR MARKET DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS.........AND BE WEARY OF JOBS POSTED ON CRAIGSLIST!!!!

**I was given the wrong e-mail address for Meredith.  I got a hold of her, I sent her my information, I got my employment verification form I needed with in an hour.**  This needs to be set straight.  Thank you Meredith and her team.

Here is the kicker, come to find out, this was sent to Ryan Scott to send to me a week ago.  He never sent it.

Meredith also told me she asked the owner of MDP about refunding my fees I incurred because their check was returned and he said "no, MDP is not responsible".  How can this be?  Meredith said that they don't usually expect people to hang on to checks for two months.

Well, I usually don't hang on to checks that long......but when they have a $70 deduction that arn't explained...for two months, thats an exception.  It never was explained.  I just ended up cashing the check,

Also, Market Development Partners is not the boss of when I cash my checks.  Generally, they are good for 6 months unless otherwise stated.

Today when I called MDP Ryan actually answered the main line.  I was extremely unforgiving and firm in getting what I needed and made it clear I was done with him blowing me off.  He told me he could help me but he was in a meeting.  Really?  You're answering the main line but you're in a meeting?  Your office has dozens of employees, no one else can answer the phone?  He didn't like this, told me I was being unprofessional.  (Laughable)

Not ten minutes later I got an e-mail from Ryan  telling me how unprofessional I am and that he would be in the meeting until 4. (wow....he has time to answer the phone and e-mail me while he's in a meeting?  Where was that dedication 2 months ago?)

We shall see what happens.
