Judge Richard Caretti on Wednesday refuted allegations that he was drunk or knew that his girlfriend may have been drunk while they drove with his two minor daughters in the vehicle.Caretti called his ex-wife, Lori Conway, very vindictive and inaccurate in her description of the turn of events late Saturday night and early Sunday morning that led to his girlfriends arrest and Caretti being investigated for potential civil child neglect.I had only two or three drinks over the course of seven hours at the hall and was certainly not intoxicated when we arrived at my ex-wifes house, as my very vindictive and inaccurate ex-wife claimed, Caretti said, reading a prepared statement in a conference room near his chambers in Macomb County Circuit Court in Mount Clemens. His girlfriend, Brenda Conway, who is a distant relative by marriage of Lori Conway, was arrested for drunk driving with two underage occupants about 12:30 a.m. Sunday outside Lori Conways Franklin home after the foursome arrived to drop off the 15- and 12-year-old girls from a Caretti-family wedding reception in Macomb Township. Lori Conway said she called police after her elder daughter text-messaged her that Brenda Conway was drunk and driving erratically.
According to news reports, she blew a .18(Macomb County-January 20, 2013) How could someone NOT know that their girlfriend was under the influence? Sounds like Macomb County needs some new judges. I can not believe all the negative news in Macomb County. As a former, Macomb County taxpayer, I find this appalling.

We have good employees, Chief Judge John Chmura said. Its a bit of a kick in the gut.But a duped Detroit man suffered more.Until officials uncovered the alleged scheme, Anthony James Parker was charged with a crime he didnt commit. Parker, 36, of Detroit, couldnt convince police and judges of his innocence. His case nearly went to trial until Macomb County prosecutors dropped felony charges. The most serious offense could have landed him back behind bars for 14 years.Instead, Joiner, 45, is now named in a warrant charging her with pocketing as much as $1,000. She declined to speak to police who contacted her in Texas before the warrant was issued. She remains at large
