Due to Disability it became necessary to have my kitchen remodel to accommodate for physical and cognitive impairments. I made an appointment with kitchen consultant at Lowe's store closest to me (30min away).They did not bother to show up for or call and cancel that appointment. Went to the next closest Lowe's (45min away). Finally met with a kitchen designer informed him that my main reason for remodel is due to disability (physical and cognitive) the second was storage space. A design was prepared and materials chosen. I was promised someone would come and do a final measurement before ordering materials.

The person they assigned to do this did not want to come out to where I lived and had the coordinator fax him the design to look over. I did not find this acceptable but Lowe's did and ordered the cabinets. They did not fit. The coordinator and installer said they could make some adjustments piece by piece and it would work out. They didn't! I requested that they go back to the design process and look at the whole picture. Again they sent the installer to look for adjustments. This occurred approximately 5-6 x. At several points even their installer tried to advocate for me to no avail. My kitchen remained with pieces missing for up to a year during which time I continued to speak to supervisors and store managers requesting the whole picture be reviewed. They continued to put pieces in take pieces out. The end result the kitchen is not functional ( even family members with no limitations find it a nightmare to work in) and approx. 20% less storage than my kitchen that was ripped out. This went into 3 years. Over which time they would send groups of people (managers, designers, installers) to my house to look at the problem. Most indicated they clearly saw the problems. They offered a solution of redoing the island as a compromise to not doing the kitchen over. They did a design for the island had me go to the store chose cabinet style and color, Had someone come out and measure this time (never indicating anything other than this was the solution they were providing).

After several months of calling, no return calls or We'll call you back (store manager and design person) The store manager finally called back and said you'll have to pay for all the cabinets for the island we will pay for install per persons above me. I informed him this was unacceptable on many levels aside form the fact that pretty much any money I had went to pay for the disaster kitchen. I offered to do the other way around they provide materials and I would pay for install or for them to just take their kitchen out and return my money and be done with me. Store manager said I'll have to call you back. My health condition deteriorated drastically I had to start several new treatment courses and remained very ill over the last year I have not been able to keep up chasing them around. They achieved wearing me down to get rid of me. "Satisfaction Guaranteed" on all their circulars' and all over the stores is Lip service. Congats to them they were able to beat up a ill, disabled single mom. I'm starting to get enough improvement in my health so at least I can provide others that may be considering remodeling a kitchen with information about Lowe's idea of "Satisfaction Guaranteed"
