Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

The Finance manager sold us a car with a ridiculously high financing charge without notifying us!! She showed us a "shadow" of the contract. Then told us we can read everything when we get home! Up until that point we believed she was being up front with us about  everything, I needed a car so we were willing to do what it took to get a vehicle.

There was ABSOLUTELY NO REASON SHE NEEDED TO DECEIVE US IN THIS MANNER!! I got home to reas over eveything to find out I wqas being charged $15000 on a $19000 loan!!  Who would willingly do this?? NO ONE!! So now we are stuck with this car that has ABSOLUTELY nothing in it!!

Im upset that she took advantage of my frustration. Mind you she NEVER told us the price of the car nor the financing terms!! she just wanted us to have the down payment ready and to agree on the payment amount!!! I didnt even get to see the car until the papers were signed!!

I questioned all of this but to no avail, Yes I should have walked away. But I didnt  believe or want to believe she would screw us like she did!! I'm so mad and I even dragged my daughter into this mess and I am so regretting this decision!!

Refinance out of your deal right away, the benefits to you are enormous

If you refinance right away, two things happen:

1) You get a better interest rate - if in fact you can get a better one. I assume your credit is fine and that a better rate is possible.

2) Cancel all the add on's that the financing office put in the contract that you didn't authorize. Usually they are things like: gap insurance (the most expensive place you can buy it is at the dealership) and "warranty" (many of these extended warranties are completely worthless but very expensive) and other items frequently labeled as something else like 'convenience package'. MAKE SURE YOU CANCEL these items BEFORE you refinance. The finance person will get docked the commission they earn by pawning these items off on you.

After you have cancelled the thousands of dollars of add on items, then go to a credit union and refi your vehicle with a decent loan. This is much easier than you think. Go either to a local or national credit union. I prefer to work with local businesses, but have also worked with national credit unions when their rates and terms are better.

Yes, you made an error by accepting her explanation for not being able to see the contract before signing. That is a huge red flag that means you should get up and get away and not sign. It is the absolute tip off you are going to get scammed. But it takes two to participate in this scam: the finance person and you. Next time, refuse to participate and you will be thousands ahead. Good luck.

I did ask questions and no I didn't get all the answers to the questions I asked. I do not have buyers remorse. I was excited about getting a new car. And I agree I should have paid more attention because I was frustrated. However as a consumer is it too much to ask that a business does its job without being deceptive? Misleading or negating information Is deceptive. Tell me I'm being charged extra. Like I said Its my own fault for sure. But there were things that could have been done and said that would have made this experience better so yes I would still say I was screwed over. Because you pay for what you don't know. And I asked several questions with no answer. I'm glad I bought it but the "deal" should have been clear.

...And YOU did NOTHING! YOU chose to not even see the car you were buying. YOU chose to not take it for a test drive. YOU chose to not read what YOU were signing. YOU chose to not even demand a contract with the figures on it BEFORE you signed it. Not only all that...YOU chose to blindly accept their BOGUS, ADD-ON, PHONEY fee without even batting an eye lash. If there is to be a movie entitled "Doormat", YOU would be the overwealming first choice for the lead role! They may have deceived and defrauded you but YOU went along with it without a peep! To prevent further damage to your finances and life, I highly suggest you get your self a keeper with a short leash.

According to you she didn't tell you anything about the loan, so how did she deceive you? If you questioned it, exactly what did you question? More importantly what were her answers? Not only did you not test drive the car, you didn't even see the car until you signed the papers...WHY? Then just how did you drag your daughter into this?

Oh we know why, and you told us, she just talked about the payment amount. Most likely getting it to a payment you could "work" with, where you told her that you wanted to pay no more than x amount per month and she worked  it to those numbers. This is actually very common. Once she hit those numbers you were so excited about getting a car that you would probably have signed anything. But then you got home and actually read what you signed. That is where BUYER'S REMORSE kicks in..so sorry no RipOff here other than the one you did to yourself.

Now, if you want to fix this, most likely you have a simple interest loan and can pay extra towards the principal every month.  The more you pay the less interest you will pay in the long run and the quicker you can pay it off. Of course if you can't pay any extra then again that falls back on you.  One other thing is that in a couple of months, you can look around at OTHER banks to refinance your car. Not knowing the interest rate you have now, it is very possible that you can find a better deal with another bank.
