What in your mind would be the hardest divorce to go through you could ever imagine. How about finding out that your spouse of 25 years was knowingly a l*****n when she married you and only got married so she could have children?

Now I have no personal beefs against either lesbians or homosexuals and that is not what this is about but what I have had untold emotional pain over and I believe is morally inexcusable is for someone to use someone else and then dump them after the kids are grown. My whole life for many years was a roller coaster ride through hell not knowing why for years she did not seem to love me but the pain was so great and the suffering so traumatic that I was diagnosed as having a form of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

For years I was constantly threatened with divorce and loosing my children and my home, and my public reputation as for many years a radio talk show host of teens on the East coast where I was regionally syndicated.

Where you ask does Liberty Mutual come into all of this? When the marriage if you want to call it that came crashing down eventually and I was forced to file for divorce I suffered multiple types of PTSD symptoms. I was eventually left with the kids now older and the home based on a two income paycheck that I by the way designed and built myself. As you can imagine I was overwhelmed! Most people who know the story locally cannot believe I survived it!

A phone call to Liberty Mutuals Vestal office well over a year ago now explained my suffering and depression and my inability sometimes to remember to pay bills on time and such things that anyone who ever has suffered true depression knows such things happen. I had been a faithful customer of Liberty Mutual for over twenty five years and an insurance Agent named Jim agreed to something that other companies had gladly agreed to. Simply this that if my bill was going unpaid and I was obviously not seeing or unable to deal with any mailings that may have been coming in he would give me a call.
Jim actually did come through a couple of times and helped me out that way and I was able to pay them and problem solved and I felt I was depending on a company who had been there for me before.
All of a sudden in the spring of this year I get on a Saturday on the same day, cancellation notices on my auto insurance which by the way was for three different vehicles. Then on the day from hell also notices from New York State Department of Motor Vehicles stating my vehicles were no longer covered and I needed to turn my plates in immediately.
Totally frustrated I tried unsuccessfully to contact Liberty Mutual so I call what I want to recommend one of the most wonderful companies I have ever worked with Geico Insurance Company. On a weekend they not only wrote me a new policy in the midst of a panic attack they were able to talk to me in a way that calmed my fears at least for then and as a level three marketing student at the college where I work I had learned of Geico's great success and growing popularity with their customer service in the US.
Well if that was all to the story it would not be so bad. Now New York State has got to be the greatest achievers of the following statement of anywhere on the planet. "Mans greatest ability is to complicate the simple!!"  Quote mine nolanharkness2012.
You see wonderful Liberty Mutual, instantly cancelled me and at the same moment contacted New York State to report to them I was now driving without insurance. I did not know this yet and by the time the paperwork got to me and I was able to read it all, try to figure it out and to purchase new insurance through Geico, several days lapsed.
A few weeks ago while driving through the town of Elmira Heights NY near where I lived I was pulled over by a Police Officer. He had cameras on his car that automatically ran my plates as I drove by. The DMV report which explained to me that one of my three vehicles a pick up truck would have to be taken off the road for my penalty which did not concern me much because I did not drive it much. No big deal right. I'll park the truck and drive my other two cars as needed while I wait for all this to pass.
No such luck now my 2002 Chrysler Concord which is my luxury car was coming up on the officers computer as not having insurance.
A trip to the DMV showed that my other two cars were also affected. I ended up having to pay $250 to be able to drive my Concord at all and had the option of paying another $250 to drive my Jeep Grand Cherokee or turn in the plates on that for 25 days which I chose to do.
The officer assured me that as long as I went to the traffic court with the proof of my new insurance that everything would be all right. As one attorney told me once, "Never trust a policeman's interpretation of the law or follow their legal advice." What I was about to find out is that Liberty Mutual's failure to keep their word with me and just cancel my policy was going to cause me pain upon the pain I was already suffering. What I was about to go to traffic court I would find out this mess would only get worse and result in something being on my driving record for many years.
Tonight as I waited through multiple other cases in a town where I donated hundreds of hours of my time over a period of 6 years running a drop in youth center. It had to be closed down when donations gradually declined as the nations economy rapidly declined and across the board giving to non profiit orgs nationally began to take big hits.
Case after case of young men got sentenced for "possession of marijuana, sex offenses, stealing bicycles, and so on my case finally came up. I thought "Well this will be a quick one for the judge and soon this will all be over."
The first thing the Judge said to me was that "You have two offenses against you one minor one could be more serious." I was shocked, "Two charges against me, the officer told me this would all be dropped with proof of insurance was brought to the court, I thought,"
To try to close out this nightmare with as few as possible words the judge agreed to drop the lesser charge of not turning in my plates immediately after (which I had no way of knowing) the policy was cancelled, when I paid the larger fine of another $180.00 of driving with plates that had not been turned in???? Go figure. Boy they really rack um up!
I actually in closing contacted Liberty Mutual's National office and filed a formal complaint on this right after it happened. They were sympathetic verbally but refused to agree to make this all in any way financially right. They came right up to but refused to admit they had done anything wrong.
Consumers in America I encourage you to not only read my story but the other ninety plus Ripped Off dot com reports against Liberty Mutual. I encourage you to check out some other companies if you are currently a customer with them. Do you think that if you have been a customer with them for years with by the way an almost perfect driving record, that they will do any less with you?

Tell your friends on Facebook about this story and try to create a positive buzz about it so they are duly warned. Also tell your friends on Facebook and Twitter about Rippedoff.com.

I encourage feedback on this article. I do have a new life now moving ahead and have recieved professional counseling with my PTSD. Things are getting better but I still have arrangments with my phone, electric and some other companies that have gladly agreed to call me including Gieco if my depression re-triggers and I need a little extra help. Say goodbye forever to Liberty Mutual!
