Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
In February, 2006, I received a post card from Liberty First Financial, with the offer of a guaranteed grant. I called the number on the card, and was told that I was definitely eligible, but they would have to run it past the supervisor, and call me back.

They called back, told me again that I was eligible for a guaranteed grant, in the minimum amount of $5,000.00. They got my account information, and promised to wait until March 3,2006 to withdraw the funds, as I am on disability and only get paid once a month.

They withdrew the funds, total of $299.99, before the first of March, causing me an overdraft charge. They then waited a full 60 days to send my "packet". I received it at the Post Office on May 1, 2006.

What I received is a cover letter telling me to "start filing those applications and questionnaire!!!", a 15 page book, which is their questionnaire, and a return envelope with no postage, not pre-addressed.

On the last page of this booklet, is a REFUND POLICY. It states "By purchasing this program, Customer is entitled to receive from us a detailed analysis of public assistance programs he may qualify for...".

It also states, same page, "... our company does not guarantee that all of its customers will qualify and/or receive at least $5000.00 in government grants or other benefits..."

I called the company's toll free number on May 03, 2006, to question this. After all, that $5000.00 minimum grant, was what I was promised up-front. I got a young girl that, as soon as I said "I have a question", answered with "Look, do you want help, or not?" I said yes, but I have a question. She said "Hey, do you want help, or not?" I asked "Is there a reason for you to have an attitude? I'm just trying to ask a question." She said "You're right, there's not a reason. Have a nice day", and hung up on me.

I called back, and got a man on the line, who had an even worse attitude. I asked if there was a supervisor there. He said "Yeah." I asked if I could speak to the supervisor, and was told "The supervisors don't take phone calls." I explained to him that I used to work as a secretary, and I know supervisors DO take phone calls. He said "Not here, they don't."

I told him, "If I don't speak with a supervisor, I will just contact the Attorney General's office, and let them deal with this matter." His response was, "Do whatever the f--- you have to do." and hung up on me.

I really do not feel this is the way a legitimate business would be run. They lied up front, then were extremely rude and hateful when I questioned that lie. Actually, I never even got to ASK my question. Says RIP-OFF to me!

#2Consumer Suggestion

I know she's not lying. I've had my own dealings with you "LFF" aka "CCR" people and you were rude to me. After discovering that you were the same compamy that scammed me, I had the chance to close my bank account before you could steal from me again. And just fairly recently they had the nerve to send me a letter stating that I was in default of payment. And they never even bothered to send me anything. Just like the first time. And "Damien" has just PROVED that they are all the same group of people. Kathy wrote in her report that the address was 1117 Desert Lane, Las vegas, NV. And Damien reported that he is from Guess where? Champlain, NY. (Wow that's some commute) When I entered a search for Champlain, NY, I received 3230 hits. I'd be willing to guess that a large majority of them are 1320 Route 9 or neighbors very nearby. I found a successful report written by a lady named Raquel who managed to contact the NY attorney's office at 518-562-3282. She was sent a complaint form, submitted it and received her refund 1/2007. For my report refer to PC One Club, Regency Benefits Group, Liberty First Financial, CCR ripoff, Mail fraud, I've reported them to the FTC, and local Police dated 9/2006. Bonnie Orange Park, FL

#3UPDATE Employee

Sat, May 20, 2006

I work for LFF and have spoken with this women. What she fails to inform you off is that she insults every employee she talks too. She starts the conversation with "listen here kid" and continues on a regularly worsening tone. She was, at one point, calling us several times a day. It is true we refused to transfer her to a supervisor, however this was after she had repeatedly spoken with both the manager and owner. She was informed that she would recieve a refund upon return of our package, she refused to return it. In the verification script, it states, and I quote "While we cannot guarantee that all clients will be approved, should you fail to recieve a minimum of $5000 in grants or other benefits benefits in cash or cash equivalent from any goverment source for any reason in the next 6 months we will refund your payment with proof of at least 3 denial letters less $29.95 for shipping and handling. Do you understand all this?" she answered yes. We complete this process for over 100 people a day, and refund all those who request and return the packet, denial letters or not. This women is, simply put, wrong.

Liberty First Financial - CCR - - Even more attitude from this rip-off company

#4Author of original report

Thu, May 04, 2006

I called Liberty First Financial again, after posting my original report. The girl that answered started out talking friendly, but hung up on me. I called right back. I got a guy that said his name was "Trevor". He told me I was a d--- liar, that no one at that company had cursed at me. I guess the f word is no longer 'cursing'. Nor the d word, apparently. I was told that I was rude and obnoxious, because I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was again told the supervisors and managers of the company do not take calls. This "Trevor" did finally let me ask my question, which was why they had guaranteed a minimum $5000.00 grant, then put in the REFUND POLICY, that it did not guarantee the grant. "Trevor" told me some people, like me, were too stupid to get a grant. I said "Excuse me?" His response was that "You are just too d--- ignorant to qualify for anything." At that point, I did lose my temper, and became rude and obnoxious. I figured it was the only thing he would understand. Trying to be nice DIDN'T work.
