I strongly recommend you stay away from LG.  They have been dishonest and have poor customer service.  Their products are very poor quality as well.

I bought the entire set of LG appliances for my kitchen which included a refrigerator, range, dishwasher and microwave.  I spent almost four thousand dollars.  I have had problems with two of the four appliances.

The range was delivered with a large dent on top of it.  LG offered me $75 to compensate me for the large dent.  I refused and they replaced it the following week.

Within hours of receiving the refrigerator, it had an error code on the display screen which indicates a broken fan.  It's also extremely hot to the touch.  I called the LG customer service number and they told me someone would be here the next day to repair it and they didn't know what the code meant.

The following day, the service company told me that the part they need to fix it is on back order and suggested I call LG.  I called LG and explained to them that my brand new refrigerator is broken and the part is on back order.  He said they don't replace broken appliances; they only repair them.  I explained again that it was brand new and delivered to me broken and asked to speak to a supervisor.

He put me on hold for 25 minutes then told me that he discussed it with the supervisor review department and that they would replace the unit.  He asked me for some information and also obtained some information from the service company, then told me someone from LG would call me within a few days to schedule replacement.

Later that same day, I called LG again just to confirm the conversation I had earlier about replacing my LG refrigerator.  I spoke with another LG representative who said my unit will be replaced and someone will call me to schedule replacement.

Since four days have passed and I haven't heard from LG, I called them this morning.  The first two representatives I spoke with didn't speak English well enough to even find my information.  The second two representatives were rude and one of them was a SUPERVISOR!

The supervisor told me that they do not replace broken units and that when the part comes in, the service company will call to schedule service.  She had no time frame for when it the part would be in or when it would be fixed despite the fact that I told her this is a brand new refrigerator!

She insisted that they don't replace broken units, only repair them and I must have misunderstood the two people I spoke with last week who said they would replace it.  I did not misunderstand anything.  I verified with two of their representatives last week that they would replace the refrigerator and they said yes, they will.  This company is dishonest!  I have spent hours on the phone with them and they have been of no help.  They don't know the meaning of customer service.  At their prices, they should!

Now I'm working with the vendor who sold the LG products to me and so far they seem like they might be able to help.

You are not alone - in my case it was a GE appliance. I had the same experience at the Home Depot store in Fairfield, California a couple of years ago. Home Depot and GE are dumping damaged appliances on consumers, knowing in advance that there are issues prior to delivery.

I am guessing the damage you had is from home depot's delivery. GE basically gave me the same response that LG gave you.

Years on, I am still stuck with a severely damaged GE dryer that wobbles on the floor and a promise note from Home Depot's Fly-By-Night appliance delivery company for a $150 reimbursement which of course was a lie.

I filed my report as well here:
