 We purchased an LG French Door 30 cu ft refrig from Home Depot in November, 2011.  The Ice Maker made ice so slowly that we were always running out.  We had a service call during the 1 year warranty period and that failed to correct it.  Finally, in July 2013, 8 months after the warranty expired, we called LG again, referred them to the original complaint and they instructed us to call one of the authorized service companies which we did. Company came, diagnosed it and ordered a new control board. One week later, they installed it and fixed the Ice Maker.

About a week after that, the service company called and said LG was denying the warranty claim, even though it was the same issue reported during warranty.  I escalated it to LG and they claim that they will not authorize warranty service for a service call that already occurred.  So, the service company is billing us about $350 for the repair.

Bottom Line. We own LG washer and dryer, some TVs and headsets...Never, never going to buy LG again.  For a reference, we had a (((redacted))) Side By Side refrig for 15 years. 13 years into its life there was a problem with the freezer not staying defrosted. They repaired it under warranty.
