I purchased a set of expensive snow tires and all weather tires from Les Schwab. When my wife went to the location in Pullman, WA to have the snow tires switched back to regular tires we were under the impression that the switchover would be free based on what the Les Schwab people told us. They did not tell my wife before she handed the car over for service that the there would be $50 cost in switching the tires.

After calling the representative at the Pullman location I was informed that it would have been free if the tires being switched out were on their own wheels. Of course the sales person selling the snow tires when I had my all weather tires switched in first place never informed me of this little fact. The sales reps actually had the opportunity to upsell me products and did not act upon it. Then they failed to tell us how much a service would cost until after they already comleted that service. Les Schwab employees are extremely dishonest and care very little about providing excellent customer service.

$50 to change your over to your winter tires? I'd pay the price too if I didn't know how to do it myself.

I can understand that there could be a miscommunication about the price of changing the tires. But they have to pay someone to change them. Lets say you have the tires for five years, by then you've changed them ten times! If its twenty dollars of work each time, I can see where that would effect the companies income. I think it was a genuine misunderstanding. I'm somewhat shocked, however, that you took your car somewhere to have all weather tires put back on the car. You sound like a younger guy. I'm a small, 20 year old, female student who is incredibly cheap. I just changed the tires myself and adjusted the tire pressure accordingly. It was maybe half an hour of work, and I'm not car savvy. All you need are a few simple tools and you're on your way! However, I think if you are not willing or unable to change the tires yourself, $50 dollars is a deal for this kind of service. You have experienced people doing the job, and they are liable for their work. Sounds fair to me!

Consider yourself lucky. A lot of times they will sipe your tires without your ok, and get an extra $60.00 on top of the $50.00 scam. Hello people wake up, les Schwab is not what it used to be.

2 years ago, my 16 year old son saved his summertime job money to buy some shiney wheels. He went to Les Schwab amd ordered some as the ones he wanted were not stocked. They called him and he delivered the car. As soon as he left, his car was bouncing all over the road. My son called me and said something is not right. I met him back at Les Schwab and I inspected the tires and wheel myself. I found 38 weights glued to the inside of his front left rim that spanned over a foot and a half. I personally asked the employee what that was all about and he said they had a problem balancing that rim. So they kept putting on more weights? Something was wrong and they just let him drive out of there with a bent rim. These were not used rims, they were brand new. I feel fortunate that my son did not wreck his car as result of this dishonest practice. Why any business would charge their customers full price for an obviously defective rim upset me. They knew he worked all summer for the money to pay for those rims. They knew he was 16 and an inexperienced driver. What were they thinking? Profits over safety! I refuse to do business with them as a result of the above.

Les Schwab can only offer so much free stuff. i am glad to pay the 50 dollars. its more like a tip to from me to them more then anything. these guys work so hard and everybody wants there services done for free. If only people would understand what it took to do these services then nobody would be complaining. your just an uptight person. These guys deserve every penny they get. i've been a customer for 25 and not once have I not left without offering a tip after having a service done. if you read there warranty it specifically says that switchovers are free if they are on wheels. Get over it
