I had a slow leak in my rear tire, so went to Les Schwab for a quick repair. When I got my keys back I was informed that I needed new tires and my car was out of alignment. I stated that my tires were only 18 mos old! I was told the alignment was the culprit. I said I would talk to my husband about it. The next morning I went out to my car and the front tire was completely flat! My son and I tried to put the spare on but were having problems. I called Les Schwab and asked if maybe the tires had been rotated and could this be the tire that had been repaired? Strangely the rear tire had not previously had a cap on it and now it did - but the front (flat tire) was now missing a cap. They said NO the tires had not been rotated. I told them of my flat and asked if there was a charge to come out. BRIAN said "yes, 27.50 but don't worry about it since you were in here yesterday", so I said go ahead and come out. When the young man arrived he said my front tire was flat because the tread was so low and it could not be repaired. He put the spare on and I said I would be driving straight to their store to get new tires. He then said, "I'm not charging you since you already had it half way changed" then he left.

I did indeed drive straight to Les Schwab in Gresham, OR and ask for 2 new tires and an alignment. I was quoted $210 and told it may be $20 extra if my car required a 4-wheel alignment. I OK'd the price and left my car there for the repairs.

Several hours later I gave my 16 year old daughter $250 to go pick up my car. When she got back she complained that I hadn't given her enough money. The had added $27.50 onto the bill with a description of "service call". Of course I called them and at first was told it was for the repair I had received the day before. - No I said I was in your store yesterday and did not receive a service call. Then I explained the service call that I wasn't suppose to "worry about" that morning. She then put me on hold and a man came on the line. I explained the whole story to him and proceeded to tell me that the guy who came out to my house was wrong and "inexperienced" that he should not have told me there was no charge. I said, "what about BRIAN who I spoke to this morning?" and he reply was that they thought it was the same tire they had repaired the day before. BS - I told them specifially that it was not! He then told me that people regularly "do things to their tires" to get a free service call. That was the last straw with me! I said I was appalled that he would accuse me of purposely "doing something" to my own car! It just didn't make any sense. He said I could come down to the store and they would try and work out a refund for the $27.50.

I told him that it was extremly inconvenient for my to get down there before they closed at 6pm (it was 4:30 when I called) and that they could keep the $27.50 and lose my business of 10 years. I will tell everyone I know I was accused of foul play by their employee and mis-lead when given my repair quote.
