Complaint Review: Larry H Miller Used Car Supermarket Sandy Ut - Sandy Utah

Purchased a car from them in July of 2013.  Huge mistake.  They didn't have the car I wanted on the lot, so they drove me to a shop that does lease returns for them.  I test drove a car that hadn't been washed, and needed an oil chainge due to it coming off of a lease return but liked the car.  I told them that they were several thousand dollars higher than a nearby dealer for the same make and model and was told that the nearby dealer sells frame damaged vehicles.   They told me that they would never sell a frame damaged vehicle.  I did a little research and found that they were correct, the vehicles at the other dealer were vehicles that had had frame damage, or unibody damage.  I decided to buy the car after being told that I could bring it back to have it washed and have the inspection, and oil change done.  If you go here prepare for extremely high pressure when you go to sign the loan documents.  They are going to try to sell you gap insurance, and their service contract. I was lied to and told that I wouldn't be able to buy either from anyone else.  I declined both, called my insurance agent and found that I could get gap insurance through them.  The rate was much cheaper, and a quick google search shows  that there are thousands of third party service contract options. Also if you read the fine print on their service contract there are a lot of things that it doesn't cover and the things it didn't cover are the things that tend to be expensive to repair.

I brought the car back a few days later and they did change the oil, and even put on two new tires because the original tires didn't pass the safety inspection but they didn't was the car.  The car wasn't too dirty so I decided to wash it myself.  I was drying it off when I noticed that the frame below the rear passenger door had drips from a bad repair job. With the car being clean you could also see where the paint was duller in a circle in the center of the door from the bad paint job.  I also noticed that at the top of the same door, just below the window you could see where masking tape had been removed from the bad paint job(see pictures).  In spite of their claims to the contrary Larry H Miller clearly does sell damanged vehicles they just sell them for thousands more than the other dealer does.

I brought up my concerns with Larry H Miller, and they gave me a business card for a body shop and told me to get a quote.  This body shop is hidden back in off the street and seems like a shady operation with just a shop, no front office, no sign our front, none of the stuff that legitimate businesses have.  I went to this place several times to get a quote, and was always told that the guy that does quotes isn't here.  I even made an appointment twice, and he still wasn't there at the specified times. I finally gave up.

Larry H Miller is not an honest organization.  You can look at the reports on here, you can look at reviews on other sites such as yelp, and you will find more bad than good reviews.  If you do go to yelp you will have to dig for the reviews because Larry H Miller used car supermarket refuses to claim their Yelp profile which effectively burys them.  They are certainly aware of the site, and the bad reviews, because they respond to them.     They have lots of signs in their dealership that say things like integrity, but don't be fooled by a sign.  There is no integrity at Larry H Miller used car supermarket.

Before you purchase a vehicle from them I would encourage you to be smarter than I was, and do a lot of research.  Look at all the reports on here about Larry H Miller used car supermaret.  Look at how the empoloyees respond to them with snarky and sarcastic replies.  Look at other review sites.  They don't care about their customers they care about getting as much money as they can off of you.
