I dissagree with the rebuttle poster as to the complainiant response to being charged for tests she never requested. True it is the Doctor's responsibility to protect the health of the client, and in general the population, the health of the client comes first, and only under extrodinary circumstances can that determination be based upon the health of the general population,STD'S is transmitted exclusively most often at will of the persons placing themselves in a position to be at risk, your mentality is that it is the duty of the Doctor or health care professionals to determine that their duty involves protecting promiscuous sexual relations by unknown people. I am against any doctor ordering any tests that involve outside fees, that are not disclosed to a client when a service is being renderd, one would not knowingly enter into an agreement to pay extra fees that were not disclosed when the original services are renderd. This can lead to medicle kickbacks from the whole spectrum of health care. Ive learnd from experience you can go to a doctor for a minor backache, and a few xrays, and find that not only you have the $350.00 doctor fee,but an office visit fee of $35.00,plus $250.0 xray fee,$110.00 xray evaluation fee,and then other lab tests, your sent these vague bills, that do not provide any information as to whom the doctor was that orderd the tests,or any date of service, and what the tests were for. Then failure to pay the bills your threatend that action will be taken to report you to the credit reporting agencies. Any other time it would be considerd as defamation of character, but in these instances they can defame the character of a consumer unfairly without giving the consumer any information other than what service always in tech terms, the amount it cost, and a demand that you pay. That is unfair practices no matter how you look at it,if one pays $350.00 doctor's fee,and a $35.00 office visit fee, then there should be detailed explanation of what is being done, and how much its going to cost. No I would dispute each and everyone of the charges, and demand them to remove the derogatory reporting.

First of all, why wouldn't you want to get tested for STD's provided your husband had cheated on you multiple times? Second of all, why would you discuss your husband's cheating ways with the doctor, and not expect him/her to do anything about it? You seem to be upset at the laboratory charge, moreso than your own risky health behaviour. I find that appalling! It is the doctor's job to look out for the best interest of the patient, and to preserve good health for the general public population. She was only doing her job. You and your husband, on the other hand, are simply contributing to the overall demise of the healthy public populace with your carefree charismatic sexual ways!
