Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

This is all MY OPINION and you can make your own opinion after reading this.  I would also urge you to read other online reviews and I have found reviews indicating Kring & Chung threatens clients who write negative reviews on online review sites such as yelp and AVVO.

After using a Kring & Chung Lawyer (under supervision of Kenneth Chung) who wasn't able to communicate a strategy for my case, billed more than twice the communicated budget amount, billing error after billing error and made decisions which ultimately ended up losing the case, I decided to read their online reviews.  I have since found the below online, which will be of great interest to current and former clients.  It appears there are some quesitonable billing practices and you may want to work with the CA Bar to see if you are owed a refund.

I will be starting my bar complaint and my fee arbitration request to recover fees asap.

FACTUAL, documented excerpts from OC Bar Association Fee Arbitration with Kring & Chung relating to the fees they charge clients, publicly available on the OC Superior Court online case records when Kring & Chung sued a client after a fee dispute.

Research Fees:

Attorneys are not entitled to recover $X,XXX.XX, billed to Client for legal research.  Attorneys admitted that it did not bill Client (or other clients) for all legal research done on Westlaw because they had an agreement with Westlaw that provided for unlimited access to certain parts of Westlaw for a monthly fee.  It is not reasonable based on the language of the Fee Agreement nor is it reasonable based on the Client's expectation to bill the Client for this expense.

Copy Fees:

Attorneys are not entitled to recover for the $XXX.XX in photocopies on (insert date).  Attorneys did not offer any evidence, testimony or argument as to why such copies were necessary.

Billing Errors:

Given the numerous errors in the Billings and the legitimate disputes raised by Client (including improper hourly rates, improper fees incurred after (insert date), improper legal research expenses and photocopies), Attorneys are not entitled to pre-award interest on the amounts owing.

Read their online reviews - they are still screwing over clients!

Dont do business with these clowns without reading their online reviews.  Especially the "not recommended" reviews on popular review websites.  They continue to dismiss requests for budgets and exceed verbal budgets and their screw over their clients.

There is no way one firm can have so many complaints of lack of communication about budgets and then hit clients with larger than expected bills without it being their intentional money making scheme.  Check your bills for money making errors on their part, the wrong negotiated rates, unethical "research fee" and ridiculous "copy fees".  These guys are blatent crooks.
