Around the end of April or the beginning of May I contacted an ad from Craigslist in regards to a one bedroom apartment for $775 in the Washington heights area. After expalining to the man I needed an elevator or a first floor apartment because I have two small children the man told me had an apartment on 133rd street for $850. I agreed to go view the apartment.

When I call back a lady by the name of Ms. Angela Jones picked up the phone. Ms. Jones scheduled for me to view the apartment. Upon viewing the apartment I paid $125 for credit check. I waited for nearly a month before hearing from Ms. Jones again. When I heard from her she told me I was lucky they were still holding the apartment and I needed to provide them with one month rent and security if I wanted them to hold the apartment while the city review my application.

I provided her with two postal money orders for $1700.00 on 6/4/07. Ever since I gave her the money I have been getting the runaround. The latest thing she requested from me on Monday, August 6, 2007 is a Guarantor making $60,000/yr and employment verification. I am a single mother strugglling to take care of my two children on a single income and I cannot afford to lose almost $2000 that easily.

I want as many people as possible to come forward so we could file a class action suit against Pernell Vassell, Ms. Jones/ Jenkins and/or Ms Keshia MacDonalds.

We need to contact lawyers to see if anyone of them is willing to take on this case as a class action law suit for free or low cost. We need to get as much documentation as possible to prove what these people has done to us. It will be more helpfull if we could have direct contact with each other to develop a plan to get these ppeople arrested. Next week while I am on vacation I am going to seek an attorney. Believe me I feel each of your pain about losing your money because I cannot come up with $1900 easily. Also, we need to return to the building where we viewed the apartments to find out who is the management company and inform them of the situation.
