I purchased my 2011 kia optime gdi in feb. of 2011. it had 27 miles on it when i drove it home. i fell in love with that car the second i sat behind the wheel, couldnt wait to go to work every morning so i could drive it. On december 18 2011 i ran outside and started the car (push button) and ran back in the house for a total of 3 - 4 min. when my daughter and i were walking out the front door i noticed that the car was in a ball of flames. Fire department put out the fire, a week or so later Kia sent a company to my house to wrap the car in plastic and put it on a roll back to be inspected. We were informed they didnt know what had happened but they can say for sure it wasnt foul play. Had it not been frosty that day my daughter and i would have went and gotten in the car and drove away and the car would have exploded while we were sitting in it. god only knows what would have happened then ,. we called kia, at first when we talked to them the first thing they wanted to know is "what do you want from us" we didnt want to say anything without a lawyer. we have tried on several occasions to contact them , left messages, emails, etc and Kia motors will not return out calls. I am still waiting to be compensated for the money i put in that car the 10 months i owned it before my daughter and i were almost seriously injured by it. Any help would be great

In this great big explosion, were any other surrounding structures damaged or destroyed?  Did they need to evacuate? Kia is JUNK.  The best place for a Kia is the nearest dumpster.  That's a WELL KNOWN fact in the car business.

A bit melodramatic isn't it?

You were not almost seriously injured. Your either injured or not and you were not. The dealer that sold you the car asked you a sincere question. In order to resolve a situation with the customer the first thing that must be assesed is, what does the customer want. Sometimes the customer wants more than just a replacement and sometimes they ask for less. Don't be so excitable and relax, calm yourself and decide how you will proceed. If you want quality and reliability I would suggest you don't buy a car from a third world country. Bells and whistles do not make a quality car.
