I have had Kenmark Air as my AC people for over 13 years for maintenance and repair even bought a complete new unit back in June of 2012.  The unit came with the 10 year warranty on all major parts and a three year service contract.

On February 01 2017 a Kenmark Air technician came out to my house to do a 6 month maintenance on my AC unit. The tech found a freon leak in the coils and told me that it had to be replaced.  My unit is under warranty so I would have to pay for labor, an inline dryer and 6 pounds of freon, over a thousand dollars, $1,141 to be exact.  The work was completed by a second technician that came out a couple of days later.  As he finished his work, I noticed that he had not installed the inline dryer that was on the outside of the coils.  He told me that it was a new style of dryer attached next to the coils, so he finished his work, collected the pay and left.  I started cleaning up after him and found a CO2 cartridge looking thing made of copper with copper line all in a solid piece.  The next day I called the company and they insisted that all was done right but I kept nagging so they sent the same second technician to install a new inline dryer on the outside of the unit like it was before.  I gave him the CO2 looking thing and he looked a bit surprised but said nothing, completed his work and left.  The unit outside started sounding rough like it needed freon but they told me everything was up to par.

At the end of May  we go on vacation and on May 31 our neighbor calls to let us know that the AC unit outside is sounding like it is dying.  She ask us if we wanted to have her AC tech look at it and I agreed cause we needed to find out what the problem was ASAP.  On the 1rst of June, Complete Care Air went to our house and found that the compressor was bad and needed to be replaced.  Under warranty I had to pay for the labor, another inline dryer and 6 pounds of freon which I agreed for a fair price.  A few hours later the tech calls that there was no TXV valve installed at the coils.  I explained to him what was done in February and he explained the TXV is next to the coils and that the Rheem distributors were going to be nice enough to let him have one WITHOUT a trade in so that he can get me up and working. He explained to me that without a TXV valve the AC unit has no way of regulating the input of the freon into the coils. This would cause the compressor to over work trying to make sure that enough freon is making it into the coils.  The technician gave me a brake because he felt bad for me and my situation.  Anyways he got everything installed and working correctly but it cost me $1,325.00.

If Kenmark Air would have done the job right in the first place, the compressor would have not gone bad and I would not be out $1,325 dollars to fix a problem that should have never happened.  I called and talked to the owners and they said that there was a different type/style of TXV valve installed.  I called the Complete Care Air tech and he assured me that NOTHING was installed to regulate the freon.  I called Kenmark Air three more times leaving messages for the owners to call Complete Care Air and talk to the tech so that he could explain exactly what he found and did with negative results.  They are ignoring me so I am submitting a complaint with the BBB to see if I can get this resolved.  I would like to get reimbursed for the money that I paid for the repair of the compressor, inline dryer, TXV valve and 6 pounds of freon, $1,325 dollars.

As of today, 16 August 2017, Kenmark Air has made no effort in contacting me to resolve this issue.
