Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I took my 2005 Lexus to the location on  1512 Pleasnt Ridge Drive for a brake inspection. I suspected my brake caliper was going bad and they offered a free brake inspection. Let me preface this by stating I have written service for dealership's and service facilities in the past.  When I called to check on the status of the vehicle my service advisor couldn't be located so I had to speak to the General Manager, Afton Trent. She tried to tell me it was going to be close to 1100 dollars to replace a brake caliper, brake hose, rear pads and rotors and complete a brake fluid exchange. She told me the caliper was going to be 181 dollars with a half hor of labor. The caliper on average is 53.00 (core chrges for the part varies). The brake hose was 151 dollars with 1.5 hours of labor. The brake hose retails for 23.99. We didn't even get to the pads and rotors due to the fact I let her know that was ridiculous pricing. Her response was "we're a business and we're here to make money". I thought you were here to try to help customers? She was quick to offer me 20 dollars off the brake fluid exchange. I told her to put the vehicle back together and I'd pick it up.

Upon arrival one of the associates greeted me after a few minutes since he was the only one on the sales floor. This facility was like a ghost town. I saw Ms.Trent in the shop talking to a couple of techs but she never came out to talk to me. However she did take the time to talk to another couple getting their brakes worked on and told them they would be getting O.E. brake parts for their Hyundai. Didn't know Towery's carried Hyundai original equipment. After waiting close to 15 minutes for my keys, another customer walked in that wasn't greeted. She had an appointment and actually took it upon herself to go find someone. It was the same associate that greeted me. He asked if "she" came out to talk to me and I told him no. So she knew I was there and I know she saw me when she spoke to the other couple yet she decided not to talk to me. She made a cognizant decision to avoid me.

So to get to the estimate numbers I called another location to ask how much the rear brake job was going to be. Without hesitation the advisor at the location told me 447 dollars. 134.99 was the for the brake pads and the labor to instll them. The rotors were 100 dollars each and it was 70 dollars to install the rotors due to the fact you have to remove the calipers to replace the rotors. You have to loosen basically 3 bolts on each caliper to replace the pads and rotors. Needless to say they are scamming folks on the parts and labor. I got all the parts for less than 200 dollars and will be going to a competitor that will install all the parts for 200 dollars. Needless to say I will never go back to this company run by Monroe Muffler Brake.
