The quality is bad and their warranty department is horrible. If you buy a home, do NOT close until everything is fixed to your satisfaction. Their only goal is making money, all else is just lip service. A warranty guy created a fire hazard in order to save $30. Fortunately, the light fixture wasn't used often and I noticed the brown color from the light bulb burning the insulation. KHOV is a typical production builder that puts all responsibility on sub contractors. The sub cuts corners to maximize profits. If you call for warranty service, they fiddle around until you get frustrated and put them out. One guy cut the moulding, moved the hinges, etc. trying to make a warped door not appear warped instead of replacing the door. I'm still finding these "jerry rigged" fixes after 6 years. They use the cheapest labor for normal installs and use a few experts to fix the items you catch in the 1st year. One expert said he'd always have lots of work as long as they used dumb installers. Most home inspectors only call out current problems, so you can't rely on them to protect you from major ones that may develop even if there are obvious signs. They know that realtors and builders won't refer them if they impact home sales. I'll never buy a production home again nor will I deal with KHov or any of it's affiliates. Be sure to do your research because these companies often change names instead of changing their policies.

If you think you had problems with your new construction from K Hovnanian, just wait until you try to get them to honor their warranties. You'll be even more displeased, disgusted and angry than you are now, if you can believe it.
We had numerous issues with poor craftmanship like excessive nail pops throughout the entire house, ceiling separation from interior walls due to poor truss attachment, cracks in walls around doorways, workers who did not speak English, and a huge foundation crack that appeared before the final walk through which they STILL haven't fixed 7 years later, AND having to redo the garage roof shingles because they couldn't even get THAT right.
We saved and planned for years before building our new home, and our decision to use K Hov was the biggest mistake of our lives.
Our friends built new homes around the same time as we did, using other builders, and none of them have had the defects in workmanship we do.
Apparently, this nationwide company is satisfied with their exceptionally poor quality construction and even worse customer service, because once they get your money you have no recourse. I have never encountered a bigger ripoff than this house or worse customer service EVER.

WOW...DIDN'T YOU GET LET GO NOT TO LONG AFTER YOU REPLIED TO MIKE'S COMPLAINT?? SO WHAT A CAREER YOU "HAD" WITH KHOV (LOL). AND MIKE IS RIGHT, KHOV'S QUALITY IS A JOKE AND IT SUCKS. IT IS A SHAME BECAUSE KHOV SPENDS TONS OF MONEY ON THEIR QUALITY DEPARTMENT BUT STILL THEY ARE NOT #1. THEY ALSO HAVE INSPECTORS THAT ARE NOT QUALIFIED AND DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!! THANKS,
Ruth

K. Hovnanian homes is a great company. Striving to be the "Best" home builder has many challenges. Quality is a very important issue. Where other builders are scaling down their quality departments, we are standing firm. Our NHQ review speaks for itself. Our training programs in all aspects of employment is extrodinary. I came to K. Hovnanian homes for a job and ended up with a career.
