Well, I'm not sure if it makes me feel better to see all of you on here or worse....

On May 24th, 2005 I stumbled upon just-leather.com (aka just-lies.com) and used my credit card to put an order through online. I did it once and got an error saying the address on my card didn't match the address I entered for billing, so, I tried again and again and again and each time got the same response.

So, thinking something was messed up on my card's account, I went to check it and there were four lovely charges for the same thing on my account. I immediately wrote an e-mail to just-lies, err.. just-leather.com and then called my card company. They fixed 3 of the 4 charges.

When I heard from Just-lies, dang it, gotta quit doing that, just-leather.com they told me their website had not malfunctioned and that they were processing an order for me.

I looked up my history on their website and there were actually 5 transactions and each one had a big old red F next to it meaning all of the transactions had failed. Okay, so if they all failed on the website why the heck was an order being processed?

I sent an e-mail asking that very thing and was told they "manually pushed it through". I told them no, I don't want it, refund the money, cancel the order, stop whatcher doin'!

The next day I was told they couldn't give me a refund because the jacket had shipped!! My goodness!!! What excellent shipping service. Custoimer Service sucks, but the shipping department apparently had it goin' on!

However, just to make sure, I requested a tracking number AND a Confirmation of order number because according to just-leather the orders had failed. SO this began on Tuesday, it was Wednesday that it shipped.

By June 1, 2005, still no jacket, 5 requests for a tracking number and order number and now the e-mails were being ignored.

Not a problem, I'll just give the company a little ringy dingy and I'm sure a level headed, customer oriented individual will be happy to help me with this glitch.

Not quite. I of course had to leave a message which I did and explained, if I was not given some kind of number that pertained to my order, the next person they would hear from was the local police.

Once again, I was amazed by just-leather when about an hour after leaving that voicemail I got a call from the Amazing Matt Sherman! However, I run a small business and there was only one other employee here that day. I was on the phone with a patient and could not take his call. He instructed the employee that answered to tell me to check my e-mail as he was writing a response to my message.

Well, you can imagine what the reply said. As a matter of fact, here's a quote from it:

"We just called your office pertaining to your call. They took a message because you were on the phone. I guess it happens that someone may be busy and not be able to answer a call ASAP. I am the VP of Global Web Group Corp. which is the parent company for Just Leather. I find your phone call way out of line as a customer and an individual. We are a 125 person based company who ships over 500 orders daily and supplies over 30 percent of the major department stores out there. You placed this order 5 business days ago, I say 5 because I'm sure you were off for Memorial Day as well. I find it hard to believe you should contact anyone and explain to them that you ordered something 5 business days ago and didn't receive it. I must say this is the first time I have heard this. I want you to know we were a little behind the past few days and your order was suppose to go out last Thursday morning. Unfortunately it left yesterday which made it 4 business days. I don't care what site you order from it tells you to allow 3 days for processing and 3-5 days for ground shipping. I will have the shipping department forward you today to your email address your tracking number. I still believe your actions and call was uncalled for. We are here to help you in anyway and please know for you information all your emails have been answered. "

Yeah, okay, so I informed him that the only reason I was making a big deal was because some one at just-leather told me it shipped. But, no worries, apparently a VP was now telling me it had again shipped "yesterday". So all right, I'll relax, but not without giving it one more college try to explain to Matthew my circumstance. He's a VP! He's got to care about me the consumer, right? TOTALLY WRONG! In my defense though, I am blonde.

So here's the next reply from Stupendous Sherman:

" I appreciate your response and we will get to the bottom of what you claimed to us. Also, please understand that on that same website is Target, Walmart, Homedepot, Continental airlines, American Express, Dell computers, Sears, Amazon, Ebay and so many more. In the retail world as you can see we try to satisfy many people as we ship an enormous amout of product every day but sometimes people only write the bad with no response when good is made. Also please understand that many of those complaints are lies and people who never placed orders with us. Some were from a disgruntled employee. We will satisfy you as it has only been 5 days. "

Who gives a crap who else is on the site. I'm dealing with you!!! Well, anyway, I took him at his word and assumed I would get the numbers that day which was Friday, June 3, 2005. Now again, in my defense, I am blonde.

So, here I am, 6 days, 2 e-mails and 1 phone call later and still no jacket, refund, tracking number or order number.

Granted it's only been 2 weeks. But I've been told it was shipped twice so Simple Sherman can think I am out ofline, however, anyone who could think that, obviously has lost the cheese off of his cracker.

Not to beat a dead horse, but cut your losses, don't order from them. It's too much of a crap shoot. The only thing I can think is that this guy likes to cause people anguish. I wonder if he has a brown cat called Azreal (as in Gargamel from the Smurfs. Get it? Ah, nevermind)

So yes, I have been driven too to legal action. Already have two packages together for a couple bureaus to be mailed today. I figure, I will hit the BBB, the NJ AG, the NY AG and we've got this great guy from our local news that loves to take on deadbeats like this guy. Which by the way, as a a side note, I did a little search on Global Web Group Corporation and as near as I can tell, they don't exist. Some day I would like to visit this imaginery world of Matt Sherman's where everyone else is the bad guy and he's the angel. I bet it's a hoot!!

So here's to the two lawyers in my family and the wonderful government bureaus out there. You've got a fight on your hands with this guy! Go get him!!!!!

Well, it only took a few threats and some e-mails but my card company is finally processing a refund. See, it can be done. I would have rather had a nice leather jacket but at least I got my money back. Yay!!!
