that the bank didn't call the police, when it looks like you didn't bother to do it either? If your aunt told the bank branch not to do anything about it when the fraud was discovered, what do you expect them to do? They're very likely denying the claim because no one has bothered to report this to the police. You can't go to a bank and tell them you've been a victim of fraud and expect them to process a fraud claim if you haven't even bothered to get the police involved. It makes your aunt look like an unconvincing victim.

I see no mention in your report of you and your aunt contacting the POLICE to file criminal fraud charges against the neighbor! Why is that?
