Initial contact was November 2021 For  10 months I have been dealing with a refund dispute with YRC thier third part shipper because they refuse to refund me for an over charge because the company JOTO is the one I paid to render services and they in turn paid YRC to ship an item to me.

I immediately notified both parties via phone after I picked up the item which should have been delivered to my door. The reason why I picked it up was due to JOTO and YRC poor communication regarding how the item would be shipped and needing to be unpacked.  

YRC apparently re- palleted this item changing the dimensions and JOTO did not inform me correctly. JOTO stated to contact YRC, and YRC advised me that JOTO packed the item on a pallet which was oversized for fit through a residential door. YRC advised me to pick up the item and stated they would refund me. After not receiving a refund I contacted JOTO and JOTO stated that I would need to deal directly with YRC.

YRC gave me the runaround for months. Now most recently YRC stated that JOTO is responsible for the billing since I paid them.

I was verbally told by JOTO to contact YRC and YRC stated I would receive a partial refund since I picked up the item. I made a complaint with YRC and was told by a CS rep that I would receive a partial refund of approx $176 to date. I never received the refund as reps do not make proper notes in the system and I am always told to call back. I have been dealing with this issue for 10 months and now I am told to contact JOTO and JOTO states to contact YRC.

The fact is I did pick up the item and have uber recipts to prove I picked up this large item.  JOTO and YRC is not being helpful to address my issue. Each company is blaming one another and making up new excuses e.g. covid etc. and stating it’s too far of a distance to make a complaint when I did within 2 days 11/2021 it’s because of the back and forth that this was drawn out so long.

Basically, I was billed a residential fee, liftgate charge, high cost delivery area charge and fuel surcharges when JOTO nor YRC incurred these charges since I picked up the item. JOTO did try to offer a $50 genorosity credit and takes no blame. However, they have not responded if this is considered a settlement.

I emailed declining until they answer the question because this would not be acceptable.  After offering this they in turn blocked me on twitter simply because I voiced an opinion about the company flaw and how to prevent this from happening to others. 

As a black owned business start up, every dollar counts and I feel entitied to this portion of a refund after spending over $1000 becasue they did not have the item available at a closer location to ship.

Over Charging Issue RESOLVED

The company has reached out to me and the issue has been resolved. I am satisfied with the outcome. My initial thoughts about the company has changed. We have worked together to resolve the issue and hopefully my comments and concerns will prevent this from happening in the future.

I have been unblocked and without prejudice received my refund. I recommend using this company. Just make sure you read and understand shipping and ask many questions to ensure proper communication. Rest assured the company will try to address any concerns.

My only advice is to ensure JOTO does not use YRC shipping to send your products, YRC has a D rating and poor customer service. JOTO does at least attempt to resolve issues. I am happy this issue could be resolved and would not steer anyone away from using the company.
